Dreamsettler has been canceled.
Added 2025-06-20 21:53:00 +0000 UTCHi everyone, Jay here. This is a difficult time and I need to go to bed so I'm going to keep the text portion of this brief. I've decided to cancel Dreamsettler. I explain more in the video. Next week I'll write a text post explaining how I feel things went wrong with more depth and will answer any questions y'all have. Please watch the video before asking anything though.
Mark (Noble Robot) and Mike (TetroniMike) did excellent work and are brilliant coders and they'll need work soon.
We do want to release or at least show much of what was made, but there still wasn't any gameplay or even a fake internet to see so it's mostly minigames, music, and video content.
I am offering refunds for the most recent Patreon payment (sorry, I can't afford more than that) and will be pausing this Patreon after posting this. You can do this somehow through Patreon itself.

I would be down to send a couple dollars a month to support whatever creative projects you have in mind going forward Jay. Though, currently Patreon seems to only allow me to send 0, 5, or 10 dollars to this channel. So, adding the option to send a custom amount would be helpful.

All of us here are disappointed but not angry or upset with you (regarding cancelling the game, anyway. I don't know anything about this other communication stuff.) Take time now just to take care of yourself and give the other members of your team what they deserve, and worry about solutions later.

Jay you've been threatening to cancel this project behind closed doors for a grip now so I wasn't surprised. But it was torture to sit and wait for the shoe to drop. You would leave me dangling for months on whether this thing was going to die or not and I kept it to myself other than my wife who doesn't have an online presence. She had to watch me pace around the house wondering if my dream project led by a person I respected was just going to go poof. You unloaded all your doubts about the game on me but I still didn't get a few days to prepare for this? Wife just out of the hospital, myself high as a kite from a medical procedure, and I open youtube and see the game is dead? I thought I would have a day or two in advanced to brace myself. This is a terrible way to do this. I know I was the lowest rung on the totem pole and you were going to cut my section probably anyway. My contributions were so small when compared to other people who worked much harder making music, animations, and an entire lore for an animated world. I was just the wrestling guy no one liked. But I deserved a proper warning, not being ghosted after your last "I don't want to make this game but they're making me" message. Thanks for the 10 bluesky followers I got after I threw shade at you online, otherwise
