✨ April 2024 Patreon Update ✨

As my most recent video is reaching completion (if you haven't seen it, you can find a mostly complete draft here and here), I thought I'd talk about my future plans for this Patreon.

I'd like to be much more active on here. Historically, I haven't really posted much outside of early access (and the very, very occasional bonus video) because my instinct is to not spoil anything so I can surprise everyone with a (hopefully) really good video when it's finished. But I understand that a lot of you would like a little more than that, so I want to start involving you guys more deeply into the process.

From now on, instead of keeping what I'm working on under wraps, I'm going to post quick Patreon-exclusive videos (probably 2-3 min) on a regular basis discussing the progress of whatever long-term project I'm working on. These may range anywhere from "today I figured out something huge" to "well I'm still stuck on this same issue" depending on the day, but I think it'll be fun to give you guys some sneak peeks into how the project is going.

Speaking of the project, I'm also letting you guys decide what I do from now on! I've posted a poll for the upper two tiers for what my next long-term project should be. Over the years I've realized that I really enjoy longer projects that I can sink my teeth into, especially those that I feel can contribute to the retro community, and from what I can tell you guys enjoy those too. With your help I'll be able to do that more without being beholden to ad revenue/sponsors/algorithms/etc. You can see what ideas I have in the poll, and since you guys will be helping me pull them off, I think it's only right that you're the ones who choose what I ultimately do.

Also yes, I said "upper two tiers" - there are three now! The pre-existing two will remain the same - though they've been rebranded with ✨fun software names✨ (Alpha and Beta) - but there's now a third (Gold) for those who want to support further and get a more prominent end credit (I'll probably add more to this later on and will keep you posted when I do).

I'm really excited for this new era of my channel and I hope you guys are too!
