RE Gaming Updates

HeyJ everybody!  Since we've been on the topic lately of what games everyone owns/has access to/can run, I'd like to revisit what each of you would be interested in playing together, as well as which day(s) of the week are best.

Currently, RE has a fantastic Minecraft server and a community that plays on it every Sunday evening at 5PM Pacific Time.

RE also has traditionally held Team Fortress 2uesday on Tuesday evenings (5PM Pacific Time), though we tend to venture to other open servers, since our numbers are a bit low for forming effective teams.

In the past, we explored console gaming with Encounterers as well, such as a Mario Kart 8 tournament or games of Super Smash Bros for Wii U or 3DS.  We've also had interest in forming an Encounterer Splatoon team, though this is generally open to only four teammates at a time.

What other suggestions do you guys have for gaming you'd like to try, and which day(s) do you prefer playing on?

Thanks for the help in shaping our RE Gaming community, and (as always) your support in making musicals on YouTube. ^^

dead by daylight is really good

Good idea! AJ and I will discuss that in a bit. Of course, Sparrow will be all for it :)

Random Encounters

Will anyone see this? Who knows! But I'd like to make one more suggestion - Town of Salem! It's free (on the website, not on Steam, but the website players can still play with Steam players) and it can handle a lot of players, and a few of us (Miss Bird included) already play now and then. We'd have to use push to talk on Mumble so we wouldn't hear a constant stream of typing, but it can be fairly amusing to chat with people during the game.

There are some sites where people sell steam keys for even cheaper than Steam sells them - for example, Don't Starve Together can be bought for $1.50 most of the time, it's just a problem of whether you're into buying steam codes off random people on the internet. Sites like G2A are pretty good, and there are always the bundles Sparrow uses - perhaps use them as giveaways on streams? That way, the gaming community would be able to grow more efficiently, especially for those patrons who can't buy things online/don't have the money... plus steam keys don't involve shipping costs!

Just gonna say, I second DST and gMod. I don't know how many other multiplayer games the rest of us Encounterers have, but I know that I have Battle Block Theatre, Castle Crashers, 7 Days to Die, Civ 5, Bloody Trapland, and Terarria.

I like all of the below ideas. I don't own Don't Starve Together or Guns of Icarus, but I wouldn't be opposed to getting them, but I can't speak for any others. And weekdays/weekends after 3 pacific are good for me, except for Fridays.

As far as games, I'd suggest leaning toward PC rather than console due to the fact that a big part of group gaming is chatting with each other during the game and most people without laptops will have issues being on Mumble while also on the console. The only large group multiplayer PC game I'm familiar with that many Encounterers already own is Garry's Mod. (By itself not a lot of fun, but game modes within it like Murder can be very entertaining.) I'm Steam friends with nine other gaming tier or above Encounterers, and of the ten of us nine own it already. Don't Starve Together (4 of 10 are owners) could be fun as well, though the pool of players may not be large enough to keep it going. Regardless of what games are being played, I suggest that if you try a new one you should stream gameplay for a few sessions. When I saw you guys streaming Minecraft and I realized I could join in the fun if I became a Patron, it was a no-brainer. I believe a lot of other people joined for the same reason around that time.

I like the idea of Guns of Icarus, seeing as communication is a must, we can get up to 16 people in one game and we all have great mics already sorted! Animal crossing towns are also a possibility, although not very many people and not much to do. Don't Starve Together is unlimited (I'd love to see how big our survival army would get!) and making servers is easy. Don't know if you've heard of it, but The Hidden is a free mod of a game where a team of 8(?) hunt one invisible person, lots of fun. Screencheat would be interesting but it might only be 4 player. And as for time, I have a month left until I get rid of uni and my other casual job strikes, so I will continue to be that wild card! Currently only Saturday and Monday night your time would be best for me, so I probably shouldn't be a big factor in all of this XD one day I'll play TF2uesday! (By the way there's a new TF2 comic out if anybody read this far)

Have you considered Guns of Icarus? Weekdays after 3:30 your time gives me the best chance at catching a game.
