REport October 20th - The Second Channel Cometh!

A couple live chats ago we talked about Skies of Arcadia. I know you haven't played it yet but it's still one of my favorite games. A musical featured in the obscure world of Sky Pirates will probably make me happy, whatever it is! ^_^ After we talked about it I got to reflecting on it. I started thinking about how unrealistic their airships are. Or for that matter, airships in ANY steampunk game or show! Final Fantasy/Last exile, I dunno just anything that features "airships." We're talking huge clunking hunks of metal, loaded with artillery, crew and cargo... How the hell are those supposed to remain airborne with puny propellers and sails? There's no way steam power is THAT strong! Is it??? More than anything I thought that could be a potential episode of Game Theory! :P I don't think I've ever seen it addressed too critically... But now you ask about ideas for Christmas and it's getting me thinking... What would a Steampunk Santa be like? Instead of magic reindeer on a sleigh he would use a big ol' cargo ship to fly around the world delivering gifts. A parent can be tucking their child into bed and singing a song about how "Steampunk Santa's coming to town!" But in between verses the child interrupts to question Santa's existence. "But mommy, how can a ship with that mass possibly remain aloft? Not to mention it couldn't possibly gain enough acceleration to travel the world in one night!" And throughout the rest of the song the parent struggles to come up with explanations :P Or maybe this is getting way too intricate... Holy smokes you'd probably actually need to call Game Theory in on this to get the science right. :P Anyway there's my brainstorm. I'll probably do more on my own at this point.

...you're just full of brilliant ideas, aren't you? :P

*super giddy because you're using 'Resident Enis'* I'm not sure about what game for Christmas... honestly, the only thing I really want to see is a Klonoa musical, but I'm pretty sure that's a bit too obscure to happen anytime soon. My favorite carol is the Carol of the Bells, though... so maybe an Animal Crossing thing? *shrugs*
