You asked if the Klingons had cloaking technology at this point and I had to think back a long way to when I played a game called "Star Fleet Battles" as a kid. It was a massively complex game played with counters on a star map and I loved it. It had lots of details of different empires and their ships and fleets. Cloaking technology was first developed by the Romulans as we saw in that excellent episode that you have already reacted to a few weeks ago. Then in a later episode there were Romulans using ships based on Klingon designs. So it was thought that there was a treaty / alliance between the 2 Empires and the Romulans gave them the cloaking technology in exchange for several of the Klingon's battlecruisers. (In reality this was probably just because in the Original Series they used the same models of spaceships for both races, possibly to save money, and they needed to find a reason why they looked the same. :-) I still love the details of different ships, stations and empires in science fiction. As I look around my study I can see on top of one bookcase a box saying: "Klingon D7 Battlecruiser Deck Plans" and that is not far from another one called: "The Babylon 5 Station Guide." Science Fiction and Fantasy can stay with you for life and be an inspiration for all of your years.
