Come on dude!!! The Great and Powerful Oz.... π€£ You have to respect the commitment to this trope. They've been repeatedly dropping The Wizard of Oz references into the dialogue since the first season. Here are some so far, (taken from a search), not necessarily in the right order and excluding things unseen yet. "Auntie Em, Auntie Em": is called out in the episode "1969" when the team travels to the past. "There's no place like home": is repeated throughout the series, notably in "Politics", "Out of Mind", and "Into the Fire". "I'm melting, melting! What a world, what a world": is said in "Urgo" when a character briefly experiences a vacuum. Solitudes: O'Neill remarks, "This is bad news, 'cause unless they've redecorated the 'gate room I don't think we're in Kansas anymore," "The Tok'ra, Part 1": O'Neill jokes about the need for the "yellow brick road". "Jolinar's Memories": O'Neill says "Well, it's certainly not Emerald City," "The Enemy Within": In this episode, after a mind-altering experience, O'Neill utters the line "That's right Dorothy, it was all a dream," "The First Commandment": The team uses the line "We're off to see the wizard," and Teal'c asks about lions, tigers, and bears. Call em out, don't critique them! π

2025-08-04 01:52:55 +0000 UTCThis was not a great one but it dose show what the SGC has been up to with trying to get something that can give them a real fight if they come back to earth. I for one like that it did not work as it shows it takes time to get something that new to work. I for one loved the Oz bit as they would have no clue who that is and he was kind of getting into the role.
