Why do they make pacts with dark gods. Well, praying to a benevolent one to help you kill your enemies is not really going to go. Also, benevolent ones would not want your soul if it is like the one the scorpion king has. Im afraid only dark gods accept such pacts.

2025-09-13 18:50:01 +0000 UTCThis is one of my favorite sequels! I love the point you made about how Rick and Evie lean into their love for each other during all the chaos. So often in movies and tv, when a couple gets together it either becomes sort of boring or the writers manufacture a lot of pointless drama in order to keep some tension in the relationship. But Rick and Evelyn are just as compelling in the sequel as they were in the first movie, if not more compelling. They're such a good team, and I love their chemistry so much. The scene where Evie is stabbed and 'dies', Rick begging her to come back gets me every time, even though I know she's ultimately going to be fine. The scene at the end where she runs out to save him I think really shows the difference between them and Anck-su-namun and Imhotep. Rick and Evie would each give up their life to protect the other. Rick is yelling at Evie to get out and Evie risks herself to get to him. Meanwhile, Imhotep is begging Anck-su-namun to put herself in danger to save him, and she runs away, leaving him to die in order to save herself.
