Personally, I'd like a more grounded sci-fi show, if he does go down that route, like the Stargate Franchise or even Star Trek (that'd be incredible for all the purity and optimism and epic moral philosophical teachings). If he sticks with a Sitcom, I think the next classic is most logical, Seinfeld!

It's just some things are hard to get past or change, and Monica's need for approval and validation is something that is probably never gonna fully gonna go away, any more than her competitiveness. Anyway, I know Rachel is being super hypocritical and unreasonable but I like how she at least admits it and doesn't understand how Ross is so understanding. Also, I do cut her some slack because of the hormones involved with pregnancy. And the fact that they just brushed off Joey being taken advantage of by his teacher when he was in 7th grade (when he says "That's the first A I’ve gotten since 7th grade and I didn’t have to sleep with the teacher this time") shows how much has changed in the last 20 years. That's so disgusting. I think a big part of the reason Joey is so hypersexual and doesn’t form many emotional attachments in the earlier seasons is because of his sexual assault trauma, from this to his and his dad's tailor molesting them both for years. There's also a comment when Elizabeth goes on spring break and Joey says he partied with drunk college girls when he was about 13. Maybe I'm just overthinking this though. Fun facts: There seem to be mixed opinions among medical professionals whether sex can induce labour or not. Theoretically, the stimulation of the cervix and orgasm during sex has the potential to trigger labor because orgasms mimic the motion of uterine contractions. Some research shows that this does work for many people (it worked for out my sister) but most experts generally agree that sex will not kickstart labor if your body isn't ready. Also, having sex while pregnant isn't safe for everyone, like those with a high-risk pregnancy. Btw, Indiana Jones is an archaeologist, not a paleontologist. While the two fields are closely related, a paleontologist studies fossils to try to understand the forms of life that existed on Earth thousands or millions of years ago, while an archaeologist studies human artifacts and its remains to try to understand human life and history. David Schwimmer was in a movie with Harrison Ford called Six Days, Seven Nights. I highly recommend it! Considering the rent for an apartment in that New York area at that time, food for one adult and other specific expenses revealed throughout the show, it is estimated that Joey owed Chandler somewhere between $115,000-$120,000. In E22, Monica gets a bad review of her cooking at Allesandro's. Interestingly enough she first got her job there after she wrote a bad review of the previous chef at the restaurant. Rena Sofer who plays the saleswoman in E21 was a regular on the soap operas General Hospital and The Bold and the Beautiful. She's also been in a lot of TV movies (one that is really good is The Stepsister).

2025-04-02 08:07:35 +0000 UTCOh not the characters, the writing. It’s pretty clear the writers made the characters more animated and caricatures of themselves from earlier seasons. I appreciate the criticism but I think it’s necessary to point it out when the writing is being lazy rather than just shrugging your shoulders. I try to find a nice balance between simply enjoying myself but also analysing what I’m watching objectively.

Their exaggerated personality quirks and flaws is what gives the show most of its humor. Monica's uber-competitive nature, over-the-top cleanliness, and inability to handle criticism are a huge part of what make's her character funny and, in my opinion, very endearing.
