Friends S8 Ep: 11 & 12 - FULL REACTION

I love what they are doing with Joey and Rachel at the moment. I don't particularly mind whether it becomes a thing and works out or not, I just find it so entertaining seeing the dynamic between them! Enjoy :)

Friends S8 Ep: 11 & 12 - FULL REACTION

Comments

I still wish it had happened tbh.

Maisie

I'm also one of the rare viewers that was really here for Rachel and Joey...

capricornmom

I really like how natural it is between Joey and Rachel and I think it was adorable when she pulls him in to cuddle while watching Cujo. But it was difficult for me to see them as a couple. I'm sure you've heard a lot of opinions on pairing them. If I remember correctly, the cast weren't fans of Joey and Rachel.

Tara

Joey/Rachel lover myself. Ross and Rachel, though fun, just never seem to feel real or right to me. So excited to hear your thoughts and for you to see what happens! It’s honestly my most favorite couple of seasons in the whole show starting about now.

jenNjuice84

Okay this explains how I feel also, lol. I always loved their friendship ever since Rachel moved in with Joey the first time. And this definitely was the most human we ever saw him in terms of showing real emotion. I just never saw them as a couple.

Debbie

he is Australian after all...

Rhetorical Thrill

loving the beard..🫦

Lucas CabralRosa

Thank You!

Heida

I love that you’re excited about the Rachel and Joey thing, and for some reason I knew you’d like the dynamic lol. I think they have great natural chemistry as well, and I like the idea that sometimes when you’re not looking for that with someone is when it can often happen.

Heather Geer

All of this. 👌

Heather Geer

I’ve always actually loved this storyline - I don’t ship Joey and Rachel in the slightest and love their friendship, but I truly believe it’s one of the most vulnerable we get to see Joey in the entire series.

maisie

Surprised you actually like the thought of Joey and Rachel, its extremely weird to me, and it would make the friend group EXTREMELY weird. Plus they dont fit at all. And im really ranting over this lmaoo, anyways love the reactions as always

Mikkel Øberg

I do not enjoy the Rachel and Joey story line. But it is good seeing Joey having good adult feelings about a woman. Just wish it was with somebody else.

Faith

I get the feeling this kid might have been around the block (maybe more than once), lol.

Jim Schmitz

You know, Heida, I'm starting to look forward to these...

Jim Schmitz

OMG. Who taught Oscar those dirty words?

Citizenschnapps

I actually liked Joey/Rachel together. I felt like their personalities match way more than Ross/Rachel.

Nas Khan

Ross and Rachel have good chemistry and history, of course, but I find it hard to deny the chemistry exists with Joey and Rachel too.

Paul

I love the chemistry between Rachel and Joey! Also, probably one of the funniest scenes this season is Ross out of breath and fully of pep having run all the way to class fast enough, then chugging the student's water bottle, LOL David Schwimmer is such a good actor.

Paul

I'm one of the Joey/Rachel "dislikers". I didn't hate the storyline, but I definitely always preferred them as best friends. As annoying and problematic as Ross became, I'll always be team Ross/Rachel.

Debbie

I LOVE the Rachel/Joey dynamic! I know a lot of people disagree because of Ross, but they’re so similar in a way and like you said just enjoy each other so much. Even before the events of this episode I’ve always loved their scenes together and I think Matt and Jen have amazing chemistry. I’m glad you’re enjoying it as well.

Victoria Tofoli

Fantastic movie, I agree. Go in knowing absolutely nothing.

Rhetorical Thrill

Poor Chandler and his claw. Also, I'd really recommend Tucker and Dale vs Evil. It's a horror/comedy that's just pure fun from start to finish, with really heartfelt moments.

BlueYami

It’s an unpopular opinion but I don’t hate Joey and Rachel together, it does seem natural and they really seem to click.

Raquel

I also may like them together more because when I think about it, it’s sort of similar with my boyfriend and I. We’ve been friends since high school. He opened up his house to me as I was leaving a mentally/emotionally abusive living environment and then we were in lockdown together during Covid. We developed feelings for each other, and that’s how that all happened.

Teej

I know a lot of people would disagree with me, but I liked Rachel and Joey more than Rachel and Ross. I just think their chemistry is so much better and the way they both take care of each other. I always thought Rachel and Ross were very toxic together. I agree with you that Rachel and Joey just seem so natural together.

Teej

Only half true but can't say anything without spoiling...

Heida

Forgot to say it in the last reaction but you look so good with the beard Oscar! The Joey and Rachel thing really did come out of nowhere but I'm not mad at it either. It sucks for Joey but it's nice when he actually cares about women and is all sweet. Still ship Ross and Rachel though! Fun facts: David Schwimmer directed E12, the 8th of 10 episodes directed by him in the series. The others are 6x06 "The One on the Last Night", 7x04 "TOW Rachel's Assistant", 7x07 "TOW Ross's Library Book", 7x09 "TOW All the Candy", 7x16 "TOW Rachel's Assistant", 8x02 "TOW the Red Sweater", 8x08 "TOW the Stripper", 8x12, 9x05 and 10x09. Joey's date mentions Stephen Baldwin, who you may know as the brother of Alec Baldwin. But what you might not know is that Stephen is the father of Hailey Bieber (formerly Baldwin), Justin Bieber's wife. Btw, the actress who plays Joey's date is Krista Allen and she was on Days of Our Lives, as well as The Bold and the Beautiful, and appeared in movies such as Liar Liar with Jim Carrey, Anger Management and Final Destination 4. Ashley Clark, who plays Phoebe's friend Roger in E11, also appeared on 7x09 as one of the people Monica's apartment asking for candy. Shawn Christian who plays Rachel's doctor in E11 played Jennifer Aniston's dad's godson on Days of Our Lives. The scene in the restaurant when Joey starts laughing and says "I couldn't even get through that" was an adlib that was left in. Goofs/continuity errors: Ross says he gave Mona "the only key" to his apartment. But Monica previously had a key when she would go to his place to borrow cooking ingredients and sometimes take money without him knowing. Additionally, in every apartment building there is a super or maintenance person who has a spare sets of keys. When Monica unwraps the game, she is extremely excited and suggests they put it in the guest bedroom. However, in 6x03 when Chandler suggests turning the spare room into a game room and buying arcade games, Monica is completely against the idea.

Heida

I enjoyed the Rachel/Joey storyline. An unexpected development and I think they have great chemistry as a duo. The actors were reported to be uncomfortable with the romantic relationship, but I think they do a great job. I love how Joey gives Rachel permission to be shallow.

Tom

Girl, same! 🥹 It’s unfairly hated by a lot of people.

Hope

Yess I love Rachel and Joey. A lot of people will try to tell you this is the worse story line of friends but imo I love it.

Jeanette Dawe

yippiee i was waiting for this one

sabine

Ah hell yes 🙌 Day 57: of suggesting (my girl 1991)
