Friends S8 Ep: 3 & 4 - FULL REACTION

It was so funny seeing the way Ross reacted to being the father here. The tape stuff was just on another level though! The Europe story to Ross and Rachel both wanting to watch it was hilarious. Enjoy :)

@Chimpman In the US, caller ID was first introduced in the late 1970s, made its way into the public in the 80s and by the mid-90s, it had become widely adopted for households (interestingly, the movie Scream had a lot to do with that). This was aired in 2001.

Heida

I’m stressed. 🤣

Teej

Caller ID wasn't as commonplace at the time.

Chimpman

When Joey confidently and accurately corrects Ross: "Whom", that was one of the funniest moments in the whole show for me because of how unexpected it hit lol

Paul

I'm not saying anyone should go out and do anything crazy...but if they're going to give out penalties for breathing on Mahomes, I say make it count 🤷‍♀️ Best of luck!

Rhetorical Thrill

The European story slaps! 🫠 lol. What a move. 🤣

Hope

Ah i can’t wait 🙌 Day 31: of suggestions my girl (1991) it has to be more people than me that love dis movie ?

Emilie Fredriksen

Everyone here in Buffalo… we’re all nervous wrecks. I just want this to be our year… even though I know we have to also beat the refs.

No idea if it's ever been confirmed but, according to Google, the whole Europe story goes like this: "Years ago when I was backpacking through western Europe I was just outside Barcelona hiking in the foothills of Mount Tibidabo. I was at the end of this path and I came to a clearing, there was a very secluded lake and there were tall trees all around, it was dead silent and across the lake I saw a beautiful woman bathing herself... but she was crying. I hesitated, watching, struck by her beauty. And also by how her presence; the delicate curve of her back, the dark sweep of her hair, the graceful length of her limbs, even her tears, added to the majesty of my surroundings. I felt my own tears burning behind my eyes, not in sympathy, but in appreciation of such a perfect moment. She spied me before I could compose myself. But she didn't cry out. Instead our eyes held and she smiled, enigmatically, fresh tears still spilling down her cheeks. I was frozen. I knew nothing about this woman, and yet, as we stood on opposite sides of a pool of water, thousands of miles from my own home and everyone I had ever known, I felt the most intense connection. Not just to her, but to the earth, the sky, the water between us. And also to the entirety of mankind. As if she symbolised thousands of years of the human condition. I wanted to go to her, to comfort her, to probe this feeling of belonging I had never encountered before. But I couldn't. Because I knew that if I spoke, if she spoke, that moment would be ruined. And I knew I would need the memory of that moment to carry me through the inevitable dark patches throughout my life. And so I watched her lower her hand, turn and slowly walk to the shore opposite me. The rest of her perfect form was gradually revealed to me, and I held my breath as I watched her disappear behind a copse of trees near the water. I didn't follow her, in fact I turned around. I knew there was nothing else we could experience together that would be more perfect than that moment... and it still remains the most profound experience of my life." Fun facts: E4 is called a "bottle episode" where the crew has a limited budget. This is why most of it takes place in Monica and Rachel's apartment and is also why it consists of mostly the main 6. Other bottle episodes are two Thanksgiving eps (1x09 & 4x08) and 3x02 "TOW Where No One's Ready. Other bottle episodes are most of the Thanksgiving eps (1x09, 4x08, 6x09, 7x08, 08x09, 9x08), 3x02 "TOW Where No One's Ready", 5x19 "TOW Ross Can't Flirt", 6x06 TOW On The Last Night" and 7x01 "TOW Monica's Thunder". In 1x07 Phoebe says she's always the last to know everything but throughout the show, Ross is actually the last one that finds out about significant situations that occur within the group. For example, he's the last one to know about Rachel reciprocating his feelings, Monica & Chandler's relationship and Rachel's pregnancy. Also, if you go back to S7, you'll notice they had been setting up Ross's "dry spell". It started with 2 months. Not so fun fact: Parts of E3 were rewritten after 9/11 because of a subplot involving Chandler and Monica being arrested and detained at the airport after Chandler jokes about having a bomb. The writers and producers agreed they could not use it and rewrote it. You can see it here: https://youtu.be/_p5i7lu2pGQ?si=3uwBTFRKBDsgIFW9. I understand and respect that they changed it but it was so much better imo, especially the payoff of the last joke 🤣 Goof: In the opening scene of E3, Chandler goes into the bedroom to pack his speedo and when he returns he has a different haircut (that was probably due to re-shoots). Also, Phoebe is wearing a sweater that looks just like the one Ross and Tag both have. Plot hole? When Joey and Phoebe call Monica about the supposed gas leak in the apartment, they are calling from her and Chandler' phone. Monica should have seen the phone number and known they were already inside.

I hope those guys get the job done, they're the last hope I have for a super bowl I can watch
