2025-01-21 14:35:57 +0000 UTCOne thing that has always made me laugh about the series of events on this show is Monica got so mad about Rachel stealing her thunder on the engagement night and here we are one season later and Rachel is pregnant at the wedding. I love how that all transpired, I’m sure the writers did it on purpose. Another irony is in the episode with Monica’s thunder, Monica tells Rachel she is going to announce her own pregnancy when Rach got engaged to get her back. Joke turned out to be on her!

Ross was taken by surprise that he was at the children's table, even though his son was sitting at it. Ross sat beside him and didn't even say hello. Always best just to laugh at the jokes and let the rest wash over you.

You should be familiar enough with the Friends characters by now to know Monica Geller would NEVER have left something as explosive as a positive home pregnancy test in her bathroom trash can ESPECIALLY with Chandler Bing in the apartment🤣🤣🤣🤣It would have more likely to have been JUDY Geller's than Monica Geller's🤣🤣🤣

Your immediate gasp while putting your hands over your face and then your jaw was on the floor for quite a while. I replayed it from Ross finding his sweater several times. That was so fun! I can't wait for more.

2025-01-19 20:43:10 +0000 UTCI love that Phoebe did that because it made Rachel realise she actually wanted to have a baby and was disappointed when she thought it was negative. But it was risky for sure and it would've been so awkward if Rachel had been happy it was negative and then Phoebe would be like "Actually it's positive... sorry"! I too loved how they did the reveal and, personally, I am happy it's Ross. It also just made the most sense for it to be him, even though we didn't see them hook up. I would've been mad if it had been Tag or just some rando. Joey's face when he realises is the best! 🤣 Fun facts: There are quite a lot of deleted/extended scenes in E1 that were on the DVD extras, such as Ross saying while crying "You both said the right names, nobody was drunk, nobody was gay, and on your first try", Judy being disappointed that Monica isn't pregnant, Ben having a speaking line (you can see him in the cut version though) and Chandler trying to dance with Judy & ripping off her skirt 🤣 You can see it here: https://youtu.be/OndCyUJxjXc?si=7ZoeweO_xmtvW6Q8. I wonder if the Ben clip was cut because you can see Rachel behind Ross staring at him, which could've been a hint to the paternity. James Brolin is still married to Barbra Streisand and what's funny is that Elliott Gould (Jack) was married to her before that. James's son, Josh, is a famous actor as well. Ed Begley Jr. is also an actor and is in fact NOT gay. David Schwimmer directed E2, the 6th of 10 episodes directed by him in the series. The others are 6x06 "The One on the Last Night", 7x04 "TOW Rachel's Assistant", 7x07 "TOW Ross's Library Book", 7x9 "TOW All the Candy", 7x16 "TOW Rachel's Assistant", 8x08, 8x12, 9x05 and 10x09. Plot holes? A lot of the situations in E1, clearly done for comedy effect, make no sense. One is, as you mentioned, no one noticing how small Joey's feet apparentely are until now. Another is why didn't Chandler just take off his shoes, ask someone to switch shoes with him or get new ones at the giftshop? They could have also danced on the carpet and still be close to everyone else dancing. And, lastly, why didn’t Ross just go to the table he is supposed to be seated at, pretend he lost his table number card and tell the kid in his place that it’s a mix up? Also, E1 is the first episode aired after 9/11, hence the dedication at the end.
