2024-05-14 21:02:35 +0000 UTCI love the water colour backgrounds in this movie; I really wish Disney hadn’t given up on the non-cgi stuff. Lilo: Elvis was a model citizen. Me: Aside from being a child predator. Among other things. Stitch’s voice is actually provided by Chris Sanders, one of the writers and directors of the film. He still does the voice in various projects to this day, though I think they have an alternate voice actor as well. Watching the beginning of this movie just makes me think of ”Birth by Sleep”. When Stitch blasts off I can just hear him screaming Ven’s name. The concept of the wayfinders works really well with the concept of ohana. I really need to play that game again. The song Nani sings to Lilo is ”Aloha ’Oe”, which translates to ”farewell to thee”. It was written by the last queen of Hawaii, and holds a lot of significance both culturally and subtextually in the film.

2024-05-07 14:40:14 +0000 UTCThis is one of my favorite movies and I just noticed 14:40 that girl was saying if you have rabies the dog catcher is gunna have to cut your h...then she gets cut off, I think Disney is making a morbid joke 😂 because the only way to test for rabies is from brain tissue collected post-mortem.. I feel like she was gunna say cut your head off 😭

2024-05-06 16:44:15 +0000 UTCYou referring to Jumba and Pleakley as the uncles is funny, because in the later films and TV show Jumba’s cover is that he’s their uncle, but Pleakley actually goes by Aunt Pleakley, and prefers dressing as a woman. Jumba and Pleakley pretend to be a married couple, and Jumba is even listed as Pleakley’s husband on the Disney wiki.

2024-05-06 15:09:44 +0000 UTCOk, I know it’s just a movie and I’m not supposed to think too hard about this, but I have a few issues with the dog shelter scene. 1) Never keep multiple adult dogs in the same kennel unless they’re from the same household. 2) Don’t send a little kid to visit the dogs unsupervised. What if the dogs hadn’t all been hiding and she opened a kennel door or stuck her hand in and got hurt? 3) Why would you put a dog you thought was dead in a kennel with a bunch of living dogs? This is the biggest head scratcher for me. 4) Don’t use a spray bottle to try and train a dog. I know Stitch isn’t a dog, but the shelter lady didn’t know that.

2024-05-06 14:47:10 +0000 UTCUhh, can't wait to watch this tonight! In the mean time, I have a movie recommendation: the last five years. It is the movie version of a musical with the same name. The story focusses on the course of a romantic relationship and really goes deep into the personalities of both, but uses non-linear storytelling and almost exclusively songs. Very atypical structure for a movie, but incredibly well done and in my opinion that makes it such an interesting movie and also the actors are phenomenal! I would love to see your reaction to it, especially how you interpret the characters and their flaws.

2024-05-06 14:40:14 +0000 UTCTheres a theory that lilos parents worked with bubbles before they passed so hes the one who makes sure lilo and nani are okay, hes former cia so it would make sense if he was close with their parents and they asked him to make sure the kids are fine. Nani is the best big sister in the disney world, and david is the best man, he waited for nani, never gave up on her and was there for her through everything, nani gave up her surfing life to take care of lilo. Its also known that lilo makes a penut butter sandwhich for pudge the fish because the one time she didnt her parents got into their car accident in the storm, so lilo believes the fish controls the weather. I love this movie so much.

The reason lilo makes sandwiches for pudge the fish is because she believes that the fish controls the weather. She forgot to feed it one day and that night it rained and that’s the day her parents got into the car accident and died. So she believes it’s her fault the accident happened and they died. This is why she got so angry at Meryl. The adults knew why she acted that way it’s why they gave each other that sad look they understood. Lilo means Lost and stitch means put back together 626 experiments were made so stitch has 625 “cousins” as they say in the tv show. The show explores the other experiments
