As reminder, he wanted a sort of sequel for Matilda Wildingham's story (From Raptor Run), but wanted for a more definitive ending for her adventure, so, as a compromised, we came up with this new character to suit the story he had in mind.

Apparently confirmed by her question about not being able to care for a goldfish. Very well done; in my subjective opinion!
