Password Development Update

Hello everyone!

If you're looking for the update to Password, check back in a week. I'll have a separate post for that. But there's news beyond that:

First up, the cause for the delay is I've been working on my second project. People know it as The Cat's Meow, if you don't, now you do. It's so close to being ready, just every day feels like another step forward and then inching backwards a little to polish one last thing or implement another piece of QoL. That's the nature of making a system from scratch I suppose but it's close.

Now, I'd love to show it off here more than I already have in other posts with teasers for some of the cards and alike, but we've hit a snag. In the back and forth with Patreon support (which has come to a screeching halt again as of now a month ago), it was outlined specifically what is and isn't allowed on the platform as far as sexual content. Given the nature of TCM as a project, unless I hear back from Patreon with explicit permissions that it's fine for the platform, The Cat's Meow will not be hosted via Patreon. It'll likely end up somewhere else, but I shall distribute word about that in appropriate channels if/when that goes forward.

Secondly, merch. I know a lot of people have been wondering about the delays with Dave and what's happening with that with so little word, but I can assure people that he's coming. The long and short is that the factory that was making them caused issues, and PPP isn't willing to budge on quality so is making sure people are getting what they pre-ordered. Is there a definitive date for him? No. Do I have any more info yet for when we'll have a rough idea? No. It all just comes down to the production side of things, but Dave is still coming.
You know who else is coming? Tyson. That's right, if you didn't see on Discord the small mock-up of what we have for the second plush so far, let me instead show you the current working prototype:

Isn't he great? I'm personally a big fan, and things aren't 100% finalized yet, but this is where this one is at. With the current queue, I wouldn't expect pre-orders for him until the end of the year at the soonest, but things could speed along with the new factories. I'll show him off more when there's developments. That goes for the other merch in the pipeline, though there's less tangible things to show for that. In essence, watch this space.

Thirdly, sprites! People are... aware that there's been no update on the sprite situation for a while. The long and short is that the person that is doing them had a fairly bumpy past couple of months with a passing in the family, and naturally they've needed to prioritise the need to grieve and settle affairs and just let things normalize. Specifics aren't my place to say, and it's not something anyone should reach out to them for details on either. Fact is, they're still keen to do them but finding the groove is hard. The sprites are still happening, just it'll be a little while yet. Maybe something to show off next month.

I'll leave my specific plans for the sprites for another post, likely the one in a week with the update attached, but I'm also going to be seeking Patron feedback regarding the status of Password and what to do with it after Dean's rewrite is concluded. Know that there'll be a space open for general discussion on it soon, and I look forward to hearing people's thoughts (both good and bad) at that time.

I'll likely have a poll up (again in a week) for something regarding Password moving forward and it'll also be around that time that I'll start adjusting things as needed for however we transition from one project to the next.
