Pictured are the results of a poll held this month regarding what people wanted. The question was posed if people preferred mock-up CGs (given they take up writing time) if it meant they got more story.
Earlier in the days of the poll it was a lot more one-sided, and while it seems quite weighted now, I'm not going to write off the 16 that prefer seeing everything fully rendered.
So here's my approach:
- The next patron build (a0.15) has 3 WIP CGs in it. Over December I'll move to render them out so they're all done for next year.
- Moving forward, if there is anything critical for CGs, I'll delay the release of that content in favor of giving a proper CG when needed (This will be for deaths or sex) anything else can be sketched up.
- Additional character assets, be it new sprites or anything alike will appear only fully rendered, even at the cost of releasing on time (although I've got my plans on how to best avoid delaying to this extent)
Ideally everything would be fully rendered, but at least as far as getting this story rolling, this enables us to get to more of the meat of what's going on which I assume is what people want. That said, on the topic of backgrounds, did you feel that's the best way to go as well? Let me know in the comments or shoot me a message on Discord; whichever is easiest for you.
