Addressing Feedback
Added 2019-10-22 02:15:07 +0000 UTCI'm open to feedback, good and bad. The past couple of months have really been dry as far as getting any outside praise of "this game is amazing!" or "This game isn't for me, sorry."
Which, don't get me wrong, is fine. But I'd like more specific things of what's liked, not liked, what people think is and isn't working, and so on. So with that in mind, what format works best for you guys? Would a googledocs questionnaire thing work best? Would just an open forum of "What do you like/dislike?" work for those that just want to rant?
I'd consider a poll, but closing it down to "Was the last build good/bad?" doesn't really help if I need to follow up with a "In what way?" afterwards. Discord is another method of contacting me, especially if you're on the server already. DM me at literally any time with feedback or questions and I'll get around to answering eventually.
I just need me that data.

To continue my thoughts now that i have finished all the routes at the moment. I want to reiterate that you should just keep doing what your doing. As some have mentioned it is difficult to give somefeed back without seeing more of the grander picture. I like to dissect things on a macro level rather then the micro. I see from the big picture to the small details and having no knowledge of whats to come it difficult for me to speculate. On what i think was weird for me to playing through the story was the dynmaic between sal, orlando and dave. On orlando side the more intimate scenes feel strange considering. For some time i was confused on who didn't like who and the kiss scene with orlando kind of gives me "cheating" vibes. I felt that orlando was still in love with sal and the scene was a betrayal in a way. I do have to admit that after seeing each character in full i find myself excited for orlando route out of them all out of curiosity. His to me seems to have the most mystery which I think is what has attracted me to the less popular characters. The usual popular ones like tyson and dean are easily lovable in there own right but the others like hoss, sal, orlando and roswell seem to exchange the easily lovable trait for more mystery. I do not think this a critism but think it was a decision by you. I hope that dean and tyson get more mystery moving forward. The other four i think are fine how they are since sal is the distant one and hoss being the "pretender" make them as characters harder to like in the beginning at least to me. Roswell and orlando I think are a bit more in the space between dean & tyson and sal & hoss. They are not front and center to grab your attention but have enough mystery and Nuance in there stories. I think you hit a pretty good balance with them. Hope this helps some more. I would love to see your plans for the plot moving forward, but i do love the mystery unfortunately.

2019-10-31 20:25:11 +0000 UTCfirst let me say that i love all characters in this game, but now to business dean feels the weakest out of all characters in terms of progression i love his erotic attitude but there are many times that that is all he has. he and sal have the weakest backstory with dave but with sal its that they at least went to the same gym but Dean is literally a stranger who randomly asked a guy if he wanted to go out. i know dean has some serious moments like with the sleep med problem and such but he feel very one note too often. the only sugestion i have is some more heart to hearts with dean that are more on the why he likes dave, how he got in the group and such. anyway great work

2019-10-27 19:57:41 +0000 UTCI'm loving the game so far, my favorite character so far are: Sal, Dean, and the dragon chef (forgot his name) I, however would suggest making a route guide for the romanceable characters. Just to know how to find the right track to follow. Anyway, loving your work. Keep up the good work. Kudos to you! :)

2019-10-25 21:11:45 +0000 UTCThe Roswell thing has been raised before and I've started working on it. A lot of it has been framing him more as a "best friend" when he doesn't really have that spot like he should. I've remedied this in my draft of the day 1 rework and a few scenes here and there to kinda push him up to be more prevalent as a "best friend" character. As for the Orlando flashback, good pick-up. I hadn't noticed that and checking my notes tells me I just done messed that up. I'll fix it now! This here is some good feedback, so I'll try and work with this.

2019-10-23 01:08:45 +0000 UTCOverall, I believe the game is going in a very good direction thus far. The characters all feel unique and interesting, the story has a lot of depth and room to grow, and the mechanic of the vault itself is an interesting take on familiar tropes. I honestly can't wait to see how you develop these ideas and characters in future releases. All that said, the game is still pretty early in development, having only made it through the first seven and a half days of the one month the characters are at the mansion, and thus still has quite a ways to go and develop. The only real grievance I have with the game is with some of the characters, namely Roswell, though this is more of a personal taste thing on my part than anything. I'm just not a fan of how Roswell treats Tyson as the game progresses; this is not to say that I think Roswell is entirely in the wrong about it, as the things that Tyson did to him and Dave were downright awful and, in some ways, maybe even unforgivable if I'm understanding everything correctly. Rather, Roswell's actions make him come across as an ass compared to Tyson (from the perspective of a player just getting to meet these characters), especially given that just about everyone else in the group seems willing to entertain the idea of giving Tyson a chance. Again, this is more of a me thing than anything being done "wrong" or "poorly", but maybe it would be good to have Dave empathize with Roswell a bit more while defending Tyson? Maybe have Dave recount some of the more awful things that Ty did to him and even things he might not fully forgiven him for doing? I think having Dave acknowledge the things Tyson did and reflect on them a bit more with Roswell, if only just to make Roswell seem a bit more jaded and a bit less of a dick. Aside from that, I noticed what appears to be a bit of a discrepancy in the timeline of how Dave met/became friends with Orlando and Tyson. In Orlando's flashback, Dave recounts that he was supposed to go to the festival with Tyson, implying that they became "friends" (or were at least on friendly terms with each other) BEFORE Dean met Orlando, but Tyson's flashback clearly states that Dave had to convince Orlando to help him undo Ty's expulsion. I don't know if there's something I'm misinterpreting here or if the timeline light be specific to each route, but this always seemed a bit out of place to me. Other than these couple things, I think you can just keep going as normal and when there's more content I might have a more detailed critique of the game. Hope this is of some use for you!

2019-10-23 00:25:26 +0000 UTCjust curious what route? i have not played through keisuke route so i do not have full knowledge but I did not find the other 2 to be "troublesome" in any way. I admit I did wish they did somethings differently but it is not my story so not my place i guess.

2019-10-22 19:32:14 +0000 UTCI think any method to get some feedback is fine. I personally do not do discord or forums, I leave my feedback mainly on Patreon. Onto what some other have said I will admit that Tyson has had a lot of development compared to the others but I personally do not mind. For 1 I like tyson character in general so im biased there however with you saying that it was done for set up on the future I trust your judgement that your focus on him is not unwarranted. I also think that tyson is the outsider among the group so it is not unsurprising to have a spotlight on him often. I think that it is fine with the character pace in the current moment since the slow burn is a perfectly fine direction to go. I do not think tyson overshadows the other in there routes. In the group dynamic he helps to stir up conflict which give momentum to the plot which as you said is done on purpose for a story reason. I have been praising a lot of the good thing I believe you have done I do not have any harsh criticism. From the portion of what I assume will be a 30 day story? it is to early for me to see any real cracks in the story. All the characters are like able, some are to me easily apparent early on and other I grow to like the more I play. As some on who writes my own stort stories and if all goes well begin my first long story, I think that what decisions you have made in your novel were well decided. I just hope that this helps, I feel like I did not really say anything besides singing your praises. Once I finish the routes I have not done yet I will come back with hopefully something more concrete. Hopes this helps :)

2019-10-22 19:10:24 +0000 UTCI am happy with leaving the criticism to others. Enjoying the game is all I want. So far I don't have anything bad to say. If I happen to find something, something I dislike, I will be sure to tell. (Just like that one time, when I wasn't happy how one route in TA (Tennis Ace) turned out. What triggered me is the developer (WOTB) didn't seem to care at all and I was patron after all... (my reasons were justified enough, believe it or not)) Minigames, like “the game within the game“ in Morenatsu Homecoming, are a nice addition you can keep in mind. Although the multiple password checks are plenty minigame on their own.
2019-10-22 15:29:29 +0000 UTCNo one left as far as I can tell? At least not beyond the scope of the normal falloff.

2019-10-22 08:25:09 +0000 UTCwell you won't find harsh criticism on patreon or discord. you need to ask outside to figure why people left. maybe 18chan,reddit etc. that said game seems great for now but they usually look good at the start. hiccups arrive later on.

2019-10-22 08:22:35 +0000 UTCYou are doing amazing so far. After the first route I directly wanted to read the others and after I figured out about the password thing I instantly took a notepad and tried to figure it out. Sadly I haven't been able to read the newest update since I work independently but I'm just trying to say that I really love your visual novel as concept and as it is (or was? Idk if you changed much. Last I time I read it, you just finished every death scene I think)
2019-10-22 07:42:58 +0000 UTCFirst I'm hearing of this but I'm glad people have picked up that. Tyson having such a large prevalence early story is to set something up and has other reasons going. A lot of the actual character arcs should be coming to light starting Day 9 now that we know enough to form a basis of opinion (and in Hoss's case depending on your affection values) know what each of their inner struggles are. But if Tyson sticks around too long in the limelight on other routes, that's a problem I'll need to fix.

2019-10-22 03:14:43 +0000 UTCI think the only issue I have personally run into, don't know if anyone else feels the same, is that out of all the characters Tyson has felt like the most development in the shortest amount of time. He is still Tyson in the sense of being rude and blunt, which feels like a big part of his underlying character, but Tyson has also started to try and change for the better in whatever way he can. It feels like I have seen a lot of growth with his character in such a short amount of time will the others haven't developed past having feelings for you, which not everyone can change or develop at the same rate so its understandable. You get a whole month with these characters so there is a lot of time to get to learn each one and who they really are. Looking at you Hoss! X)
2019-10-22 03:11:22 +0000 UTCWhen you say forum, what sort of format are you imagining? I'm thinking back to ye olde days of Invisionfree and proboards as far as forums are concerned, but is that sorta where you were thinking or am I way off the mark?

2019-10-22 02:44:02 +0000 UTCA forum might be easier on ya rather than setting up a questionnaire for each build plus you can get the good, the bad, and the random all in one place
2019-10-22 02:40:49 +0000 UTCA questionnaire would work for me personally, that way you can get feedback on specific subjects as well.
