This is part 3 of my unedited final practice run of warptorio!
Warning: now that the "warp time pressure" is off, over the next 2-3 videos, the gameplay is going to transform from preplanned, written out and well executed strategy to a more improvised style, and therefore also more long-winded and slow progress making in general, as well as some of the tasks which need to be done are just fairly time-consuming, especially when needing to interrupt them to keep the non-automated/not-automatable-yet parts of the base supplied. Please feel free to browse ahead at your own discretion. Please feel free to browse ahead at your own discretion or use the timestamps below.
Anyway, I will continue to post the full playthrough for those who are following, as it's enough of a low-effort effort to be worth it even if there's just a few of you watching. I will post some timestamps of sections of video which are potentially above-average-interest. That said, if you want to watch the whole video over a couple days without any spoilers/roadmap, don't read past this paragraph.
=============================
For this video, there are still several planned steps to undertake, but the order already starts to be shaky and may be different based on map specifics. Skip the rest of this paragraph if you don't want to know about the general things I try to achieve in this video. In general, we first need to prepare to not die to behemoths, and there's not that much time before they start appearing. We also have to change to nuclear power, not because of pollution, but because of ever increasing coal consumption. With only 2 harvesters available for automatic resource intake, we need to minimize resource the bases resource consumption (outside of iron and copper) as much as we can. Therefore we will also switch to electric furnaces as soon as plausible (which will be a while, as we somehow need to go through the whole nuclear power program before we can think about making the switch.).
Notable moments in this video:
0:00:00 Scrambling to not get obliterated by behemoth biters, which start appearing within an hour of disabling the autowarp timer (not really a notable "moment", but more of a struggle to survive after behing behind in all other areas after going full beeline.
1:40:30 During a boring exploration phase, I speak about my first thoughts about the new features announced for the factorio expansion (in the first 2 new FFFs, mainly the planets and tech changes, and the Quality system)
3:22:05 Designing the first nuclear reactor (2-core, 160MW)
3:52:55 The biters start winning (ups starts dropping due to extremist biter movements)
4:47:35 Changing to electric smelting and oil tank transfer to boiler floor
Anyway, enjoy :)
