Severing Time & Space News!

Patrons,

It is I, the overlord, your grandfather, the hermit living in his den... er... nevermind. I'm just the writer who made this page.

Anyway, allow me to get right into the news I wanted to share with you.

Severing Time & Space Act 1 is officially finished. I call this the childhood arc because, well, Wu Jian is just a kid. It starts when he's 8 and ends when he's about 14.

This act was mostly an introduction into the story. I give you the protagonist, his goals, show you the world, and introduce the cultivation and various other tidbits of information required to understand the setting. Of course, it's not just an introduction. This act has its own self-contained story as well, which I hope you have enjoyed.

Act 2 is coming up next. This act is going to be darker than the previous one. If you've read my other stories, then you'll know that even my silliest of comedies have some really dark themes. American Kitsune went into a war of genocide. A Most Unlikely Hero deals with deep and complex interpersonal issues. WIEDERGEBURT has lots of death and violence. Etc. Well, get ready, because this next act is gonna be dark. It might not be Goblin Slayer or Higurashi dark, but it will be pretty brutal at times, especially the beginning.

What's gonna happen in the beginning? Heh. Not telling.

*Insert diabolical smirk here*

Now, the main reason I'm writing this post is that I've got a surprise for you that should be pleasant.

As you all know, I haven't been writing much. I do about 2,000-3,000 words a day Monday through Friday because that's all the time I've had to write. A lot of work in my backend has prevented me from writing more.

Independent writers like me are more than just writers. We're also our own publishers. That means we are responsible for every aspect of publishing a book. We edit. We correspond with artists, copy editors, proofreaders, and narrators. We have to go over the edits and audio files to check for mistakes. We format our own books. We have to maintain a constant social media presence. We answer questions from readers. We have to monitor our ads. Etc. etc. etc. It's a lot of work being an indie author, and all of this extra work piles up, making it sometimes hard to find time to write.

That has finally changed.

Because I slowed down my writing, I was able to get all of that excess work down to something more manageable. This means I have more time to write, which is why I will now be writing two chapters every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for Severing Time & Space. You'll get one chapter in the morning and another in the evening.

Tuesday and Thursday won't change. I'm gonna use the afternoons to complete all the extra work I was telling you about, but it's now a small enough pile that I won't have to work on it every freaking day.

Yay me.

Anyway, that's what I wanted to tell you. Thank you for supporting me all this time. I hope you enjoy the extra chapters that will be starting next Monday.

Comments

Don't worry. I won't overwork myself and suffer burnout like I did when I was writing WIEDERGEBURT. I think two 2,000-3,000 word chapters is doable.

Thank you. Don't worry. I won't overwork myself.

Woooooosh. That certainly is a lot of hard work and I'm happy that you were able to surmount the challenge. I too have to say that it's okay to take a little break otherwise you know All work and no play makes a unhappy person.🤔😎

Awesome to hear.

Amazing news! Thank you for all you’re hard work. I also want to remind you that it’s ok to take time off. You need rest as much as everyone else ❤️
