Hey everybody!

Sorry for the spotty SAKANA updates lately! I got a lead on a potential concept art job opening and I needed to finish up this piece for my portfolio before I apply. It's a super long shot, so I'm not holding my breath on it, but it's been a good opportunity to kick my ass into gear, get some stuff up on ArtStation, and cobble together the first formal resume I've had to make in maybeeeee 10 years???

So, this is what I've been working on! You may have already seen some of the in-progress shots and the final piece on Twitter and Tumblr, but I spent the last week making final color adjustments and edits and putting together the prop callout sheets. The goal with this illustration and accompanying diagrams is to make this scene as easy as possible for a 3D artist to model on their own. That means solving a lot more problems and being more exact than I would have to be for a normal 2D illustration.

I'm taking the rest of the day to figure out the resume and cover letter stuff and then...applying I guess?? Like I said, I'm not counting on getting this job, but now at least I'll have everything I need to start applying other places.

I have the next 4 SAKANA pages already laid out and ready to pencil, so I'm hoping to get a jump on those (and upload them here to Patreon) early next week. I have a few good pieces in my concept portfolio at this point, so I think it will be easier to work on future pieces and update SAKANA pages concurrently.
