Catalog Started
Added 2024-11-29 15:00:06 +0000 UTCWe heard from you in a big way that the OpenForge Catalog is a thing you want to see. This month, we started the project. I still of course will need to put most of my time and attention into getting releases out, but I'll be dedicating a third of my release time moving forward to the catalog project. Each month, I'll give an update as to what's going on with the project.
Month 1 updates:
First cut of requirements hammered out, and we've made some decisions on what will be in the MVP (Minimum viable product), Beta, 1.0 and beyond.
Mockups of the UI have been created
A huge part of OpenForge is going to be managing all the data, I've started a script that can run over the dropbox and build out the initial bulk load of data. We're starting with dungeon stone, and this has also resulted in a mass number of file name changes to make the data easier to parse.
Hosting and providers for the application have been chosen.
If you are interested in participating in the project, please, let me know here or on discord. We're using a private discord channel to manage the project, and we'll be letting people on discord see progress between the monthly updates.

I would be happy to help with the catalog. I'm a full stack programmer, with preferences for Java / NodeJS and ReactJS and more than 20 years of experience with building and maintaining applications.

2024-11-29 15:22:00 +0000 UTCI personally would prefer all attention being placed on the catalog. It is very difficult for me to find what I'm looking for. I ended up making my own "packs" of files so I have the tiles I need.
