Caves have hit the top of the vote, so I'm gonna do some work here for a few months getting caves updated, and adding a bunch of new features. But first off, I'm doing a new texture!
Print these sandstone caves with sandstone filament, no painting necessary. They’re done as soon as your print is done.
No cap, as the kids say.
These are the first tiles I've designed (may be the first anyone has designed actually) to be used straight off the printer with no painting step needed.
What you do is print these tiles in Overture Rock (Fossil) PLA and Overture Rock (Sedimentary) PLA (Amazon associate link) or other similar banded filament. I strongly suggest printing many walls together at the same time, as this results in two great side effects. First it means that the banding changes faster than if you print one at a time, in which case it can be hard to get even one transition in the wall. Second it means that all the parts printed at the same time have the same banding, so they go well together.
I plan to update older cavern files to optimize for this filament so you can use these tiles right away. This idea was presented by patron and discord user Schadow, thanks!
