Roofs and Gables

The vote this month was to create building facades for the streets set, but I realized that before we could do that, we really needed a solution for roofs. I've been bouncing ideas around for literally years on how to do this, and so I started and put them to the test and ..... threw all those ideas out.  I realized something on this design, that roofs are actually not as hard as I had built up in my mind.  One can still design them based around the standard sizes we already work with for tiles, just building something that fits into say the 2x2 footprint, but is going up at an angle.  With that insight in hand, I started building this set out.

This set has shingle roof components can can build a roof of any length over 3 squares, for a building from 2x squares up to 7x squares wide.  The set has the roof sections, as well as gables with wood and stucco sides.  Because this set doesn't interface with anything else from other projects, it's openlock only to keep the number of variables down.  The breadth of the roof sections increase in half square increments, allowing this set to produce roofs for wall on tile and separate wall sets.

I have two more releases for this month expanding on the initial roof set and probably one more release next month.  That should result in a fully flexible 45 degree roof set with stucco.  Future releases can add other roof materials such as tiles, other roof angles, and stone gables and dormers.  After the 4th release in the roof set I'll finally be positioned to start producing interesting building facades so we can meet the vote from September.
