Evan is currently running an aquatic/nautical/coastal/jungle Kickstarter, Depths of Savage Atoll, and thought it was the perfect time to create and release an idea he's had for a while.
This OpenForge release is "Sea Cliffs". These are large pieces (just over 7" tall) that connect with OpenLock clips to form a vertical sea cliff, worn down by the waves over time to show the layers of cliffs below. There are 4 straight wall variant pieces, an inside bend, an outside bemd, and a big "skull cave" entrance that you can sail into! These are perfect for a wargaming diorama/table, an epic nautical encounter with a baddie in front of his cave lair, and more!
These print easily and (relatively) quickly for their size - They have a hollowed back for faster printing and less filament usage. A straight wall piece @ .28mm took ~4 hours. No supports are needed, and minimal infill can be used (10-12%).
These are printed in black, hit with a gray primer then a lighter gray dry brush. Then added some mossy effect with 2 shades of green on the ledges, then some tufts of forest grass.
PLEASE NOTE : the other pieces in the pics (sea stacks/columns, rowboat, dragon turtle, sailor) are models from the Kickstarter, and were included to spice up the scene in the picture, but are not part of this OpenForge release. This release is for the cliff wall system only.
