April Tile Voting

Finishing up the basics of Town, I'll almost certainly bang out Towne Windows and Towne Separate Wall Primary Walls to just finish rounding it out.

If you have not done so, please read the text at the top of the poll, it will explain the process I use for voting. I'll close voting out next saturday.

Give those a try. If they work (ish), I could maybe start from there.

Looks like someone attempted it anyway: <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3551914" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3551914</a>

Thanks for letting me pick your brain. I'd hate to see the set never get an update. To be honest, if I wanted a set NOW I could go get the one from Rampage, but I like the look of yours so much more. The curve of the wall running into the curve of the sluice is just perfect. Anyway, I may have a go at some of the approaches you mentioned, I'll be sure to let you know my experience.

Right, I understood, I was meaning that if one connects in other tiles, the floor level of the other tiles would be below the water level of the sewers. FWIW, this is one of the possible approaches, just it has it's drawbacks - but so do all the other approaches I've got for this. One can actually do this one now. Just print bases and use the tiles as-is, and a few people have done this. Another approach is that I make them much more shallow, and just accept that the sewer tiles aren't that deep now. - this one isn't super because the tiles are less awesome, but maybe I could make it work. I could combine the two approaches - make the tops of the floors higher than normal floors, but try and keep the water level still below floor level of other tiles, and possible make them a little more shallow to help keep it from being too tall. I could also attempt some custom bases that only work for sewer, and see if I can make all the clipping mechanisms work inside that. The core of the issue is just that I'm not frankly thrilled with any of these, and I've been hoping that some new solution makes itself obvious. At some point I'll likely throw in the towel and just implement one.

Oh, I meant to raise the entire tile. Basically take what you have now and stick it onto the bases as-is. The top of the tile would be higher than the rest of your tiles, but the water level would be lower than the tile.

Andrew Conti

going "above grade" is an option Feels weird to have water flowing above floor level.

Would it be possible to just raise the surface high enough so it won't interfere with the base? It would have a bit of a lip if you were connecting it to another set, but I don't think that's a huge issue, especially since that set's tiles already have detail on the outer edges.

So sewers cuts below the bottom of openforge bases. I have yet to come up with a satisfying answer on how to solve for that to convert them to openforge 2.0, so for now I have not added them as a set to do work on. I'll keep noodling on how to address that problem, and hopefully come up with a way to make them a set I can upgrade and then work on in the future,

I didn't see an option to mark down for Sewers. Is that an option?
