Tudor rebuild progress

So I've started on the tudor rebuild process.  First order of business was to create a new process for making wood planks.  This is my first cut.  Left is a square from the existing tudor tiles.  Right is my first cut at a new wood style.

What do you all think?

i like the new approach a lot. I'm going to reprint the Tudor set eventually.

I'm of two minds on this. My mind and that of my printers. I think think the new doesn't look as realistic as the old. Texture-wise, nobody I've seen does rough wood as well as you. But my printers HATED it. My printers think these look like the best thing since sliced bread!

Looks much better! It's also great to get an insight into the design process. I have started tinkering with Blender recently with the intent of making some tiles/walls, but it's a very steep learning curve.

biggest advantage to new style, the grain shows through REALLY easily with a simple wash or just a light dry brush

Evan Carothers

I like the new one. seems easier to print and paint afterwards.

Fairlyn

I’m really into the new wood grain over the old. Though I’d love to see a test print side by side.

Justin Sinks

Highly approve of the new style. I find that styles with "deeper grooves" and grain that is more pronounced stand-up better to printing and then painting afterwards.

Xphile

I also like the original style of wood.

Nancy Hutchins

Love the new wood grain

John Campbell

Visually I like the existing style. But I think, that print-wise, it will be easier with the new wood style for most people.

Looks great! I love the major groves and knots, can the new squares have a combination of both? Major grooves and knots with the finer detail between the grooves found on v.1?
