The Mangonel

This is a special release. As you all know, I'm helping out a little on the Oakenspire Kickstarter (that you all get a discount on). One of the first unlocks was that I would release a catapult designed with the set in mind. Well, here it is, the Mangonel. This model is based on a real recreation of a medieval mangonel. There's a lot of misrepresentation about what these machines are for. Most people think of them as siege weaponry that are used to batter down castle walls. In truth, the mangonel (and other tension based catapults) had a pretty hard upper limit to the force they could apply, and were nearly entirely used as anti personnel weapons as covered in a Shadiversity video.

There are two versions here. One is fully articulated, but is made up of 12 pieces, and can be a little fiddly to put together. The second one, contributed back to me by ecaroth is 3 pieces with the arm in a fixed position, so much easier to assemble. He also added in a pile of stones for good measure.
