Based on the votes, a ruined set for both OpenForge 2.0 and OpenLOCK was the most popular set, so we are continuing on with it to get out the basics. We've now got ruined walls! This is the most organic set of stonework we've released to date and we think it looks great.
We decided to rethink the paint scheme that was being used for the ruined set as it looked pretty odd pulled up onto the walls. The more saturated paint scheme works better to help this feel like it's ancient, degraded stone.
We're going to start highlighting some of the ideas that are up for vote that have been added since the start of the backer site with releases.
This release we'll focus on learning. We've been getting a lot of requests and questions on how the tiles are designed and how people can learn to do the same stuff. There are two ideas that could help with this up for vote. One is to start having some releases focusing on tutorials. If we did this, it would probably take the slot of a release once in a while. Focus would be to make a video and release a blender file with example parts for the tutorial. The second idea is to polish up some of the tools I've built for blender that help me make the tiles. I've got some python code and utility blender files that combined can make it easier to build things like walls. While the code is released, it's not documented, and doesn't really have a UI that people can use. The second idea is to do a release focusing on documenting, polishing and releasing in an easier to use form this blender tooling.
Be sure to go vote for any of the other ideas you like (or add your own ideas) on the backer site.
