Having finished the reaction now...i saw the story of Keir and Deiter differently. Keir's writing was so intimate and romanticized about his brother, i feel that Keir was confronted with uncomfortable sexual feelings watching his brother masturbating in front of him, that he felt intense shame and confusion which led him to the irrational act. It wasn't about inheritance or power or anything like that, it was about sexual desire and confusing intimacy. Which was the theme of this episode, with Helena's role here and her motives.
And yes, Clarus was very spot on with her insights this episode. fun watch!

Irving had been outside already in the OTC. He's worn winter clothes and drove in snow and everything.
