Also zoro wasn't just made at luffy he was mad at his self that's why sanji said he's so hard on his self he was defeated by the cool brothers

Another thing that people don't normally think about is that Zoro is actually the only noticably religious Straw Hat. Out of all the Straw Hats, he takes offense at Eneru calling himself god, because Zoro doesn't believe in gods. He walks the path of the Asura, and in doing so, he attempts to behave more stoically. He believes that his stoicism is part of his training as a swordsman and that behaving as such is a source of strength (*see below). So while he is religious, it's more like his religion is a means to an end to pursue strength. There is a shift in his character pre- and post-Baratie after getting slashed by Mihawk, but it's even more pronounced after his battle with Mr. 1 in Alabasta. If you pay attention, you notice that he starts pulling back from the rest of the crew, all except for Sanji. Zoro drops his guard fully around Sanji and reverts to acting like a delinquent, rolling his r's when he speaks. There are moments of immaturity that break through, especially when sake is involved. After all, he is still technically a teenager during pre-timeskip. But overall, Zoro pulls back from a buddy-buddy relationship with everyone else in order to grow stronger, but he does this out of a sense of duty and loyalty to his crew. There's more we could discuss but it would be spoilery so I'll stop there. *In chapter 402, Zoro gets mad at himself for breaking character while fighting Kaku after he calls Kaku's hybrid form super lame. He warns himself that he needs to keep it together or his blade will grow dull.

I've always thought that Zoro always took his job so seriously in large part because Luffy is so invested in his own crew. Zoro has to be aloof to remain impartial and keep people aligned. He's basically sacrificing the social aspect to ensure that if anything ever happens he's able to make clear decisions, such as with Usopp back in Water 7. Also would explain why we see him get along well with Robin, who is clearly able to compartmentalize when to be a goofball and when to get serious.
