gojo is 16 in episodes 1-4, so, yep, it is also super inappropriate

Riko is 14 if I recall, so yeah problematic. Gojo I think is 17 during these early events.
Also Geto was shown to be heavily involved in most of the events in S1, not just 0

A lot of people shared similar reactions in feeling displaced when watching the second season since it kind of threw you in a backstory without any warning.
I did actually find myself being bored of the first few episodes, because I'm like "why does this matter? I want to ssee whats going on with the characters I made a connection with"
The back story doesn't last the whole season. In fact, we'll go back to the present by episode 6.
The first 5 episodes are to introduce characters, and their motivations.

yeah I don't get the apple reference... but I've thought of Gojo's powers like magnets. His Infinity power covers all the micro or macroscopic space between things (atoms, items, whatever). Red is positive and explodes force or expands space, Blue is negative and condenses space/energy. In the first season his Purple essentially deletes anything because it's mixing Red/Blue - resulting in net-zero/absence of everything.
His Six Eyes allows him to see the minutiea of all of this and control it in a way no one else can do. It's wild lol

Hold that thought.
You got there on why he called it an apple. It's just a Newton reference for gravity.

also jjk 0 was the first thing to come out for jujutsu kaisen so technically that should have been first

I also think whats hurting your enjoyment of this is that geto is heavily involved in season 1 and i think youve forgotten that

I shamelessly copied from a reddit post, but it's pretty well explained.

Okay so Gojo's inherited technique he got from the Gojo clan is "Limitless"
Think of cutting 30cm in half, you'd get 15cm, cut it in half again you'd get 7.5 and you can go on forever You soon realise that the decimals keeps getting infinitely more and more and never reach 0(0.000000000005 for example)
Gojo brings this concept to reality using Limitless
Nothing could ever touch Gojo, and I mean nothing because the distance between object to gojo keeps getting cut in half and further until said object stops, or at least looks like it stopped
That's Neutral Limitless, the basic of Gojo's ability
I'm not gonna bore people with the science fiction gege loves sprinkling in his manga so I'll cut to his techniques
By amplifying Limitless using cursed energy, Gojo is enable to create an attraction force in the shape of Blue Blue, attracts stuff
Now we get into Reverse cursed energy first before Red
Reverse cursed energy is simply when cursed energy(born from negative emotions) is multiplied with cursed energy, it creates positive cursed energy(accurately known as Reverse Cursed Energy)
A negative number multiply a negative number equals a positive number, that's basically the gist of it
Imbuing reversed cursed energy to a cursed technique(blue) will give the reverse effect of what the cursed technique is
So the opposite of attraction is, you guessed it, repel
Red is the reversed cursed technique of blue, which repels mass and is much more destructive in nature
Mixing red and blue(the force of repel and attract) creates hollow purple, virtual mass with more destructive capability
TLDR
Neutral Limitless(CT) > Blue(Amplified Limitless) > Red(Reversed Cursed Technique) > Hollow purple(a mix of blue and red)
