Oh, that whole Dragon Ball conversation makes sense, Kami was the only one that knew that the Dragon Balls disappeared if he died, so Krillin and Tein would suggest bringing him back. They literally didn't know how they worked, and Kami was trying to lie at the end. Goku just figured it out. That's why it bothers me when people call Goku stupid, he was NEVER stupid, just naive. Even in Super when he forgot the mafuba jar, I get it, it was a goofy decision to make him forget to bring the jar, but is that really that unbelievable? He was in a stressful situation and trying to rush, plushes gets tunnel vision in fights, so he can't think of everything. The kissing part I can't defined but I don't think it was that deep. People were impressed by the DBZ fights over these because of the sheer scale of them. These are still relatively grounded fights, but DBZ has faster world shattering moments, which I prefer, that's why DBZ fights are better in my opinion. I don't always want crazy feats in my fights, but 60 times out of 100, I would be more hype by those. If you think of it that way, its not hard to imagine why people prefer Z. Do I like Dragon Ball more overall? Yes, but not by a lot. Dragon Ball Z is more fast paced and had very hype moments. Plus I'm pretty sure the general consensus is sci-fi > fantasy. People just want bigger. So you're right, DBZ is more of the same but its bigger and bigger is better.
