Time Travel to Tech School!

Hey everyone !

In the upcomming game-update Keen will be doing some time-travel. And for this bit of the story I’ve been drawing several new locations, characters and scenes. I had a lot of fun drawing all this - and can't wait to show you what I made!

Valentines day at Tech school

So to recap: the reason Keen goes back to this time, is to warn his former classmate (and ‘almost’girlfriend) so that she won’t end up in a meteor storm (she is the astronaut in pink from the game intro).

Now Keen can travel to any moment in time, but he can only stay there for a short while. So Keen has to choose a day, of which he is absolutely sure his classmate was around. And that day was of course Valentines day at Tech school!

So Keen zaps back in time to Valentines day, and first arrives at the front door of his dorm building. And here we see Keens friends working on their graduation project. By talking to them you will of course learn a bit more about Keens past – but they are also part of a bigger puzzle here.

Now one of keens friends is kinda rude, and brags about how he can seduce any girl. But that’s not going to work out as he planned. The scene below is the start of that encounter.

This scene will also be a part of the bigger puzzle- but besides that, I also wanted to use this shot to introduce a bit of new sci-fi concept in this world.

And what will happen, is that we we will see parts of the tech school-building lifting off and landing – as if it were rockets. I imagined it would be a handy way to bring ‘outside expertise’ to school :)

And then one screen further, we’ll seen the girls dorm.

Now I added this shot so I could expand on the sci-fi concept mentioned above.

Here I was thinking how to make this dorm look ‘futuristic’. And so what I imagined was, that girls can move into the dorm by docking their ‘flying room’ to the main building. And when there are done with their studies, they detach their room again – and fly of to the next part of their life. ...I thought that would be kinda fun :)

If you click on the building, we will get to see a closeup of the entrance. And the next step is to try to enter the building. But Keen can’t enter as long as there is a guy spraypainting a love message on the dorms front door. Which he keeps repeating, because the text is constantly be removed by the janitor-bot.

So I imagined Keen has to find a way to stop the bot from removing the grafitti. And when you managed to do that, then the final part of the overall puzzle apears. This girls demands that Keen bring cloclate and flowers, or he can’t enter the dorm. Because ‘Who shows up on Valentines day empty handed?’, right?

Well, and that’s roughly what I have for the Tech School scene so far.
