Hello everyone!

It's been a while since my first monthly post, and I announced some things, but let me start with something else first. A HUGE THANK YOU! to every single one of you that liked my comics, and decided to support me, financially, with positive comments or very positive messages. This is what helps me the most to keep pushing forward, in some cases I even managed to make things that on a first glance were impossible, possible! Breaking the barriers of what is possible is what I strive for. I already got some new assets thanks to your support, and of course, better hardware that would help with speed and improve quality of my works seems to be possible in the future, all thanks to you!

Going back to the topic of this post. It took me a very long time to conceptualize, render, filter, change, put them it all together, and now release the first character card. Over 1300 images in total, with size of over 16 GB! All of that for just one card. Might need new HDD very soon 😅

What are character status cards, why make them?

Good question, I am making comics that revolve around changing characters, possibly transforming them, what better way is there than to showcase the process in detail at different stages? New clothing piece? Hairstyle change? Curse getting stronger? Something else changed within a character? Showcasing characters at different stages feels like a cool idea to me, and adding animations to that (although right now they are very simple) is like adding a cherry on top. You know how some people showcase BEFORE and AFTER of some characters? My idea was to take it to the next level! Those animated cards are super time consuming, but I feel like it will be worth it in the long run =)

How do we use/get/play them?

I decided to create three files for each card:

PNG format 1920x1080 that will present you with non-moving image
GIF format, that lowers the quality of images and limit colors, but is able to showcase animations
APNG format that allows me to keep the quality almost intact while showing all animations

While both PNG and GIF shouldn't be hard to open, I found that opening APNG in your browser by simply dragging the file and then clicking on it to zoom in is the best way.

As I said, and will keep saying for a little bit longer, I'm still new and you could say inexperienced with all of this, but I think with your help/feedback I will hopefully be able to create some of the best stuff out there. This card is not actually 100% done, things are not set in stone, as I will probably want to add some more details, maybe add one or two extra animations too! That's where you can come in and give me some ideas on what else would you like to see on them, so please comment, message me here or post your ideas on Discord!

Who will get them, how will you implement them?

The plan is simple, to either include a card as a page in a comic, or at the end/beginning. All the formats will be available for the members, and APNG cards will be exclusive for all paid patrons. I plan to go a little crazy with animations in them in the future (if possible) They will also be released as separate posts here on Patreon, for your viewing pleasure.

What about second big surprise?

Well, sometimes with good news comes the bad news, and this is one of those situations. My current hardware is not able to handle what I had planned for second surprise, so I will need to postpone it indefinitely.
