Brett covers the 1986 Disney sci-fi movie Flight of the Navigator, about a 12-year-old boy who becomes psychically bonded with the alien AI/spaceship (voiced by Pee-wee Herman) that abducts him and transports him into the future. Uncovering the film’s thinly veiled p-e-d-o subtext, Brett reveals the entire plot as a coded depiction of theta programming, a form of trauma-based mind control aimed at activating superpowers in child subjects. He also examines Disney’s relationship with NASA and scratches further under the surface of the Francis Ford Coppola-George Lucas-Steven Spielberg axis that revived Disney in the 1980s.
