After giving an overview of Malick, we analyze the his movie that most directly interacts with the major topics of Psyop Cinema, his 1973 debut Badlands. We discuss how it treats the themes of social alienation, nihilism, and dissociation and consider the possibility that this poetic and eerie lovers-on-the-run crime drama is secretly an MKUltra movie.

One of Sissy Spacek's earliest roles was to play a very young-looking victim of trafficking in 'Prime Cut' (1972). She has a credit as "set dresser" for the obscure horror film 'Death Game' (1977) despite being a well-established actress by then. Bill Paxton was part of that team. Spacek seems very fond of working with the ultra-sus Tommy Lee Jones. Rip Torn is her cousin and, according to IMDB Trivia, "She is the 22nd great granddaughter of King Edward I.
