1: Kaa has never been taken directly into battle. He's not built for that. That's Ymir's job, with Rian acting as scout. Kaa was used to scout as well, and then search places afterwards, which was shown during the last arc of taking the islands in the Stepstones. 2: Again, would the assassins not move to secure/eliminate those guards in some way before attacking? It is literally in the scene before the battle that some of the guards were taken out by the attackers/assassins. We don't know who the target was, and we never leave the room for this scene, so how can you say the guards outside are there/not already dead? 3: Please tell me when you have just woken up, when your mind is focused on making perfect judgment calls, and when suddenly forced into action, you make the perfect choice every time? As I said before, Cregan is used to fighting with blades, not magic still, so he goes with what he knows instantly 4: Again, making the perfect call with hindsight, or when reading the situation when out of it, is why hindsight is a bitch. At what point has Cregan ever been perfect with everything at every split second? 5: Again, the guards are outside/never seen and under Oberyn's control (at least we would assume so for those of House MARTELL). Cregan could warn of dangers, ask for better security, and Oberyn could install it. However, no security is foolproof, and they've been guarding the manse without issue for a moon or so. The odds that they have grown lax is hardly unreal. And using events from the other timeline as examples are great, for explaining why Cregan would ask for better security, not that I think Oberyn would need the request because of Lilith. However, Cregan is, and I cannot stress this enough, NOT IN COMMAND OF THE MANSE. *: As i notice you are on the Discord, you have seen this chapter there and could've/probably read it there months ago when it was written. I'm curious why not comment about these perceived issues was brought up then? (If you don't read on the Discord, then that's fine, just curious on about this)
