From what I understand is that Cam is having trouble with the force. Cam could be considered as a hybrid, someone coming into the force that has never accessed the force before. This being said, it is not inconceivable for Cam to not understand what the force is trying to do, and since Cam is an outlier there is nothing to suggest that Cam can't just ask the force for help. I know that putting myself in Cams place I would have asked for the forces help within a week or two after getting rid of player's mind. After all asking for help would be a next step since Cam really doesn't know how to react to all this new power.
