I haven't posted here in a while and it was time to talk about a few things.
Past: During the late months of 2022 I wasn't mentally in a good place. The MoGi programmer wasn't working, a lot of my data was damaged (I approached a technician to recover it) and I did try to hire a new programmer for MoGi Origins but I hit a few dead ends. Due to all that my creative mood hit rock bottom.
Present: Now, a few months later, My creative mood is back. Maybe that's because I fixed my diet (my blood result were within the acceptable limits this time) or maybe because a centipede bit me (true story) and gave me super powers. It doesn't really matter.
What matters is that I got my creativity back, and among other things, I made a demo of a new Ucogi game that you can all enjoy. It is called CypherGrid and it is the first Ucogi game that I made in years. It's a logic puzzle with pixel art-like images, a concept that I wanted to release for many years... and it was made in only 10 days! (I was working for almost 27 hours straight to meet the Jam's deadline)
I'm attaching CypherGrid in this post or you can click the link to view it in itch.io. I received some very positive comments there during the Jam, and I hope you like it too. Have in mind that it is still a work in progress but I would love to hear your thoughts about it, as I'm planning on expanding on the story and maybe add a few adult scenes in it! It is also a proof of concept, as the puzzle method is original and I was also expanding my programming skills. I'm quite proud and hyped about this, as the game works well and it does everything that it was set out to do. And it was made in a short time, without a lot of reused art, because I'm still waiting for my broken HD to be recovered.

Regarding my broken Hard Drive, it is still in recovery (since September...) but I'm told that my files have 90% recovery success and I have retrieved a few folders so far.

It also came to my attention that the current MoGi Beta is broken. I don't know how it happened, but you can't really progress beyond the docks (there is no orb to charge, therefore Voms can't climb over the last containers). This is a huge oversight on my part and I can't begin to imagine how it happened. A temporary way around this, is to switch characters by pressing shift+e (Ninja and Vor can jump high). I shouldn't even been telling you this, but it is more important for the beta to be playable to some extent, until I'm able to fix this. Be warned though... if you overuse this, it can ruin the game's experience. None of the extra characters have actual art, but I will change that in the next version, as most of the characters' art exists in the version that I'm preparing.
I will try to fix the above issue myself, but it might take a couple of weeks. "Why so long?" you may ask. Currently there is no programmer to help me with the game, as I still try to hire one. But what I can do is import art, place it in the game, and make it playable and presentable levels. I know I can do that, as I have done it before and I know my limits.

This however would have to wait, as I need to have a minor surgery first. I plan to work on MoGi as I'm recovering from my surgery, and at the same time I will try to get in touch with new programmers. My original programmer is gone... he hasn't dropped me a line for 3 months now and he hasn't contribute anything of value since September. And for those who don't know this detail... I have actually bought his share of MoGi Origins (as he was the co-creator), so the game now belongs to me in it's entirety. Which also means that I'm responsible for everything that happens with it. Huge risk and responsibility, but it was the only way to save the project from sinking. And that's why I'm still here fighting for it.

The current MoGi version is very outdated. There are so many new things added that it's a shame that I wasn't able to share them with all of you, and it boggles my mind how I missed that for so long. There is new music, new characters (such as Alice, Rudy and Ucogi), new art and areas....
The first thing I want to do is release a new Beta that is better than the current Beta and at the same time search for a reliable programmer to help me finish the game. Finding a new programmer is always a risk but I can't dance around this anymore. This needs to happen, fast.

The bottom line is that MoGi Origins right now is a mess and I will try to fix is as soon as I can. My sincere apologies for all the unfortunate delays. Please be patient for a little bit longer with the next beta. I'm not sure how good I can make it be, because I'm not fluent in GameMaker, but I will do my best to release a decent version during my recovery. Feel free to ask me anything at all, you deserve that, and most of all... thank you for your awesome support! ❤️
