insulation prep + bad news

I call things like this “continuing education.” Makes it not sting as badly.😆

Dee Renfroe

What a job cleaning out the crawlspace but we'll done as that must have been horrible to do. As for the pipeline I can't see it as a mistake more like inevitable with the thickness of the pipes and where it had to go, you have ripped down a house, rebuilt it with one of the most awkward shape roofs ever, nothing is standard or custom so not only are doing it by yourselves there are no manuals on fitting things in the spaces you have, it is annoying and upsetting but not your fault at all, I bet if the professionals fitted it they would have had the same issue, you both are absolutely amazing and I am just so glad I found your channel because watching you two work together like you have and seeing how much closer you have grown together is just so heartwarming and I thank you for making my week so much nicer ❤️❤️

Considering it’s your first time running that non bendy line through the most unusual and difficult of structures, that Mr. Cool probably couldn’t have imagined to design for DIY-ers, you guys are incredible and deserve praise for even attempting!

Pauli

I’m sure you’ve done your research but spray foam has been a problem in the uk with timber rot. It’s led to some mortgage refusals and people having to remove it. Sure it’s fine if done properly but just flagging. House looking great!

Jim

Omg, if only we'd only had to hire someone to fix our mistakes just once, lol! It's not an unusual part of the process. Even pros mess up! What many people don't realize is that this is a big part of why there's a permit and inspection process. They can sometimes find costly and/or potentially dangerous errors. In your situation you know what happened is bad (nice that neither blamed the other!) and now to figure out a fix. Hopefully it doesn't mean starting over with running the lines. 🤞 You'll figure it out! Not the end of the world.

Joanna Adler

Sucks about the coolant line BUT it is very exciting to finally be at the “spray foam the basement and crawl space” phase.

Is the foam insulation safe to use?? Sounds chemically 🤔

Anne Martin

You guys are freaking killing it!! That is just a bump in the road but it's not slowing you guys down!! You got this

Maryviolet Evans

I believe tears were shed. By me, at least. For you. Gah. Damn. Sorry guys. Do t let it get you down! You are amazing!!

Bonnie Baskin

Sorry to hear about your setback. You two are smart and capable. You’ll resolve it. Remember the ga’billion things you’ve done superbly. You’ve got this 👍

Scott Levac

Sorry, to hear! I just want you to know, you guys really are doing an amazing job.

Deborah Guirl

Excellent way to look at this, so healthy. It’s no wonder you two have gotten this far.

Hazel

You're right, it totally could be worse. You've done amazing! And it's not that it can't be fixed. You just need a little help. Which is totally ok!! ☺️

Autumn Lahti

Why don’t you contact Mr Cool and order a replacement line set rather than trying to repair the break. Much more reliable down the road.

TomAndPeg

Sorry about the heat pump thing, but you're right–it's incredible that you built a whole house and it took you 1.5 years to make a mistake big enough to warrant professional help! That's huge props to you, even if it sucks that you struggled so much with the heat pump in the first place! 🫶🏻

CaptainJamie

I’m so sorry about the issue. 😔 I hope you can get it resolved quickly. Hoping someone who’s watching knows someone to help. You both work so hard!
