window install… day 3!!

Comments

Lots of snow in Sweden for example and there it snows a lot, most doors open outwards

Sandra Jónsdóttir

Beautiful! So happy for you!

Pauli

I was thinking the same thing….

Paula Kennedy

That window over the cliff is insane--and vertigo-inducing!!! Whoa! Not sure how close I could get to it! But, truly awesome!! ❤️

Siennaflower

I didn’t think you could install any doors that opened “outward” (like that last one) due to snow?

Darren

It looks amazing! I am so excited for you guys. The house really is becoming more like a home every day

Lisa

Awww yeah! Windows look amazing! So happy for you guys! Your home looks more like a home, no more water rushing in.

Samantha Goodman

I noticed their installers have a reel with a picture from the outside. 🔥🔥 https://www.instagram.com/stories/jcginstallationsltd/3644317115582110590?igsh=MWlmcng5ZGkyazgzaA==

Scott Levac

Jenna you look so happy! I’m also happy for you both and the shape your home is taking.

Elizabeth Derks

Which window has the different frame? I remember one was made different from the others. Also, plans for cleaning them? All your neighbors have huge windows, they may have some tips for you. I imagine pine sap might be a problem? Is siding next or inside work?

Cyn Thia

I’m so excited for you guys. Yes, Jenna is absolutely beaming. Congrats on the progress!

Angie Hollingshead

Amazing I love it.

Ted Barney

Are you going to have any privacy in any of the bedrooms with so much glass? Will you have curtains?

Rebecca

I would love to see a really brief/basic roadmap of what the next main tasks are - are you using spray foam everywhere or will you use rock wool in the walls inside? When we built our home in Iceland I pestered my carpenter husband for a similar task list and he said it wasn’t so easy so no problem if that’s not an easy task!

Stephanie Elizabeth

So stoked for you guys! This is so cool!

Leah

Sorry to be a bit negative about that door opening out, but if it rains or snows, when you need to let jack or Benson out, and they aren't in a hurry, the inside of the door is now outside and depending on wind direction can get wet. The wet drips IN the house. Can the swing be reversed??? Id also look at reversing the office door to swing out, not in. I don't envision you using that door often, so that would work better. What about the door in your bedroom, in or out?????

Elaine Theriault

Love the windows and so nice to see Jenna beaming!!!! Two things though. We had our patio doors in another house installed so they open out. So not convenient. If you are in inclement weather, it's hard to open or control without shoes on because the door opens away from the house. I was super glad when we moved. And as fir birds hitting the windows? The more glare and reflection of the sky??? They love the reflection. We had smaller windows and have had birds hit because of glare. See how it goes but I would say those big windows , especially the corners one may need something on them. Great job. Looks amazing..good thing you have those six or eight burly guys installing.

Elaine Theriault

Amazing to see the windows in! I'm pretty sure you will love the tilting windows :D

Eric D.

That looks amazing congratulations! I love the massive windows and you have so many sliding doors! I was watching your last video and you mentioned using spray foam insulation in the floor and (I think) ceiling. Are you using open cell or closed cell? I live in Ireland and there has been a lot of mixed reviews about spray foam generally because people use the wrong type or have poor installers. I think it's important to have ventilation cards if you use closed cell to prevent mould or rotting on your joists. I'm not sure if it's more common in Canada than it is over here. Have you done much research on spray insulation?

Eibhilin

Wooohoo! So happy for yall! I love European windows. I moved to Germany last year and am a big fan of tilting and opening options here.

Morgan

My guess would be for snow. It's quite common in Nordic countries for doors to open outwards so snow doesn't fall into the house

Frances

As a European i found it sooo funny when Jenna got scared from tipping open the european door😂 But then again, i see why it would be scary, when you're not used to it 😆 But I do love the Windows in! It's beginning to look like a house again!

Louise Holm Jensen

It looks fantastic! I'm from Europe and I don't have to turn any lock fifteen times 😂 maybe there's a fix for that.

Mynte Eanna Krogh-Jeyasingham

Amazing! So beautiful! As an European it is funny to see you struggle with the window/doorhandles. I didn’t know this was a European thing

Carlijn

So happy for you both! 💕

Tracy Frazer

It’s much quieter now when you’re recording ☺️ I’m used to hearing the birds, lawnmowers, etc. How do you feel about it?

Juniper

Well done folks. What an exciting milestone!

Trenton

Yay!!!!! -I love it when a plan comes together.

carolyn zucker

Jenna is literally glowing!! I’m sure it’s been a much needed big win! After so many obstacles over the year + remodeling!

Lucy Baldridge

This looks amazing! Just one question why do you have the “basement” door open outward?

Vince

This is so cool to see! It'll be interesting to see the flooring and ceiling done for that window that is so close. I can see how happy you guys are and that is so wonderful

Sharon Klug

Guys this is so sick. Jen, we can all feel this is a turning point by your face in this post. So much fun.

Daniel Parker

Your face says it all Jenna !!

Jai D

It looks amazing! Love that you already did the landscaping. I can just imagine how it will feel when you move furniture in your bedroom. Beautiful view and serene feeling.

Traci

Yay!!

Ana Hubbard

Amazing! So excited for you both, I know you are so ready for the house to be sealed in! Almost there. 😉

Colleen Rourke

The audio sounds different in the house now!!! This literally changes everything!! 😃 I’m so pleased for you two. Not luck!! Hard work! You guys rock 🤘🏼

Erica Henderson

Those views!! I feel like they're made even better with windows

Caroline

I guess absolute worst case with the swing door clearance is you’d have one window to redo… either shorter or as a slider. Would suck but wouldn’t be a complete catastrophe if it was just one out of all those.

David Lewis

Just wow!!! Thank you for sharing updates with us.

Scott Levac

This isn’t just luck, this is all your hard work paying off!! Admiration from the East Coast of Canada! 🇨🇦

Michelle MacIntyre

Gotta get some Stoner Invisible glass. It repels water like rainex but no need to clean the glass 1st. Its one and done. Will work great on your shower door too.

Cathy Turner

That looks amazing!!!

Autumn Lahti

The windows look amazing!

Ingrid Hastings

They look beautiful! Congratulations to you both! The critters are officially evicted! Remi's grandchildren, outta here!

Cathy Turner

So exciting! It really does make it feel sealed in and ready to become a home 🥰

Tesla Cox

So awesome. That corner window is amazing!!!🤩 And

Leigh Duquette

Maybe a video from the outside? It looks amazing!

V

It just looks SO GOOD! 🤩🙌🏻🥲 that corner framed window is awesome!

Hailee

Are the different frames noticeable? Amazing windows, I love your vision for your home!

Sue

Wow, you can really see the scale with you standing next to them! Beautiful choices. Jenna, you look especially happy at the end.

Danni T.

The windows are spectacular!❤️❤️. Ok, I understand the European door, my sister has one and she lives in Nova Scotia. I can never figure how to switch it from tilting like a window and opening as a door. She has to help me every time, and I’m always afraid I will brake it. Is that the type of window/ door you have? Watching your videos is so inspiring ❤️. Sharing in your joy from Hopkinton Mass.❤️❤️❤️
