RIP RIP RIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP sensor

Does anyone else have an issue where the headset gives a warning about it not being plugged in to USB 3.0 when it clearly IS plugged into USB 3.0

Most likely a bandwidth error. I had this same issue when I was on Oculus but had no issues with tracking. When I switched to a powered usb 3.0 hub it showed up as 3.0 again

BakunyuuWaifu

let me know if that worked

Ah nice one, ill take a look

inside task manager look for OVR server x64 , OVRservice Launcher and OVR redir and kill the programs that would automatically start it again it should go away turn green

i use to have that issue lol i bought a usb 3.0 extension and it worked is just a faulty software issue since facebook no longer support the rift and rift s

I did check them dude. Its just old and needs replacing. I do need a 3090 for my other work though so I'm being forced to save up.

Errrrh ... did you check the cable? Sorry for asking, but the factory cable on my Quest gave up on me recently (no biggy, since I have an Anker and the Q1's wifi). If it's really the Rift, go get pre-Oct 2020 Quest 1 from Ebay, get a mid-class Radeon to drive it, shouldn't set you back more than 600€. The RX 5700XT gives me 30-40 frames in two-person scenes with lighting and clothes, and if VaM 2.0 turns out to be much better optimization-wise, as Meshed said it would, you won't need a monster like the 3090. Or so I tell myself ...

I've checked all these guy's. The problem is simple, I've used the Rift everyday for about 4 years and it has just given up. I have superglued it 6 times and it is currently held together with zipties, 2 Velcro ties and glue. I just need to replace it. Which just isn't happening with the current shortage of RTX 3090, plus the 2 together would cost about £3k which definitely isn't happening anytime soon.

Same thoughts...I just have not upgraded my power supply yet

Michael Powell

One other thing. If it is a desktop, I had a computer that was doing it after I upgraded the graphic card. Bottom line, the graphic card pulled more power and basically starved the USB for power. I upgraded the Power supply to a higher wattage and the problem was eliminated. Just saying in case you have added anything recently that may be pulling power from USB. May be something to look at too if driver update does not work.

If you're plugging it into your front panel USB, it has limited bandwidth, so you may need to take out another device from the front panel. Also you may need to update your motherboard drivers. God speed!

Megabyte

Yes, its a pane in the @rse

CooperR53

Yeah it happens sometimes, sometimes it just works, something switching usb slots helps

Lolita Puncher

Mine does it occasionally. I usually unplug it and plug it back in! Using a different USB has helped too
