2025-04-20 08:52:52 +0000 UTCI love the chapter in general so I'm sorry to say this, but I think Brandish's fate was handled a bit clumsily here. The last time we saw her she was punted into the Bay by her own daughter, then BS makes an offhand remark about her saving Bad Canary making Amelia's kidnapping possible, and now Lisa says "Brandish made a deal with the PRT"... and that's enough for Taylor to bring her decapitated head IN FRONT OF VICKY, WHO IS A FRIEND. I think there should have been at least one or two more lines from the Pelhams and from Lisa verifying that yes, Carol genuinely did find Amelia being Mastered by the Elite preferable to running wild with the Teeth instead of just indirectly being a patsy who found out she was played in hindsight. The current exchange does not make her fate feel justified to me... unless that's the point, that Taylor is even further down the slippery slope than we thought, in which case NVM. Additionally, this is the first time I've posted a comment on Patreon so why am I stuck with this wall of text? When I try to hit enter to space things out, it just posts or saves, but I see other comments can make separate paragraphs...? EDIT: Fixed, thanks Pen!

Tattletale posting, talking about the bullet points of why, when, where… and then lists a bunch of people that were involved in breaking the Rules, cape + civilian ID, what their role in the incident was, and recommended actions they could take. “Donate all of your investments to one or more of the following charities, and then join the Guild or King’s Men. Alternatively, request immediate legal aid in updating your will,” would make a good one for Uppercrust. Maybe “Visit (church), confess your sins and ask for last rites.”

So happy that Carol actually got hit for that, I wasn't certain if she'd been in the know about the Elite (wouldn't kidnapping Amy hit close to her own trigger) but the fact that she did made the after effects very therapeutic. Also love how the chapter had a repeating theme of parents, as mentioned in the cuddle pile. (All 4 of the main girls' parents mentioned or shown in the last few chapters) Taylor and Chrissie (and assumedly Lisa and Amy) going to a fundraiser in civvies is awesome for so many reasons. Parallels with canon and the fundraiser the Undersiders hit, for one. Also we get to see them all in fancy dresses (maybe suits?) and also they can show their tattoos if the outfits allow. I can even see some people in the crowd being somewhat on their side bc to be fair Taylor hasn't instigated a single event that she's been a part of, as she mentioned. Just loving how natural the story is and always excited to read the next chapter!
