Ecstasy is a part of a new age of demons within a modern age that live secretly hand in hand with humans. They aim to spread their influence good or bad ( matters the house they claim allegiance too). These demons must make pacts with Humans giving them 1 wish of their choosing but the rules on these wishes are Ambiguity ( The demon may choose how to interpret the wish )and sacrifice. So she makes a pact with a human who had just gotten dumped by his childhood friend who he cared for , but she loved another. ( don’t know his name yet haha ) and so the ambiguous wish he makes with Ecstasy is just for someone to care for him always. The wish gets granted and he gains Ecstasy as his loyal partner and as for the sacrifice he loses his humanity over time ( purposefully left ambiguous ).

I see it kinda like Game of thrones where these houses gain allegiances due to the houses having leaders who get along but of course that could all change if a house gains a new leader who happens to destroy said allegiances.
