To think someone who receives so much praise on his vocal talent and voice actively avoids taking them was such a wow moment for me, bc it really puts into to perspective everything he put into developing it. Ofc we always knew he was insanely hardworking but that is definitely on another level, and I understand the reasoning behind it. When learning things from someone sometimes what’s seen as objective strategy can take away from personal color, and I think lots of people fall victim to that in different mediums. I think it’s admirable that not only did he choose to not strictly adhere to that route, but he put in the work to combine it with his own way of doing things in order to remain true to what he wanted for himself. I loved these interviews when they came out, they really gave a lot of insight into personal processes and thoughts of the members. There’s one for each member. They were for the BE album, which they all were very involved in the process of creating from start to finish.
