2023-06-27 18:41:15 +0000 UTCShoutout the person who requested this! AOA as you discovered is 2nd gen; they debuted in 2012 with the song titled "Elvis". It's funny the mention of angelic, angel, and Charlie's Angels vibs, because their name AOA means Ace of Angels. IIRC, from their debut MV, the concept there (and maybe as a whole?) was that they were angels/angel like characters who fell from the sky. The short hair blond is ChoA, and she definitely was a big favorite for a lot of peeps lol, it's not just y'all. And as for "Miniskirt", when you think AOA, most people are immediately gonna think of this song first. It was and still is one of the most iconic songs in Kpop out there! Unfortunately they've been through a lot, there was a lot of controversy surrounding the group because the tense relationship between two members and one of them ending up not being so great heh. I won't go too in-depth, and I haven't looked into this in a while, so who knows what the situation with everyone is now, but basically people thought Jimin was bullying/treating Mina horribly, but it turns out Mina was the one who was actually causing problems and a lot of negativity not only for the members but for staff and such as well. It was so bad that Jimin was pushed out of the industry when we originally thought it to be her fault. It was this whole mess of misunderstandings, mental health issues coming into play, and us fans jumping to conclusions. As for the current status of whichever members are left, I'm unsure. They haven't released any new music since like 2019 or so I believe. I do believe that Jimin recently came back though, so very happy for her, since she was my bias. But yeah, AOA was out here with hits! And they were one of those groups like Sistar that had these nice sexy/mature concepts that we sadly don't see anymore and I honestly really miss having a group like them around.
