this convo was really interesting, especially the fact that some of you really are dancers so the debate was nice

I understand where Suga is at. All 7 can dance, but only the 3 j,s are naturally groovers. Great examples Keith. We heard Jin and Rm saying they are not comfortable without choreo. That’s why when you see them sometimes freestyle they look like they can’t dance.

I agree with there being a difference between coming into this with a base dance style/natural groove and being good at learning and executing choreo. They're definitely different lanes. That doesn't take away from how impressive either is in its own right, and both come with their own problems. Jimin, despite having some history with hip-hop dancing was not as natural and fluid in it as needed when BTS was being formed, which is why he was almost cut several times. His contemporary background affected how he performed the type of dancing they were meant to do. Hobi's background in street dancing and hip-hop fit his natural groove, which he found early and ensured this wasn't a problem for him.
I think Jungkook and Taehyung are good examples of existing in the pocket between the two, with both of them finding their own natural groove along the way without any background in dancing. You can tell when they really started feeling extremely comfortable in their own skin and moving their bodies to any rhythm they wanted.
Yoongi taking the time to add these sorts of lessons and dedication to improving himself however he sees fit in his time off is just his own way of trying to reach that pocket. It's admirable that he's interested in doing so and I love it for him. 30 years shouldn't be perceived as a cut-off to learning some fun skills, anyway imo, especially if you're healthy and have nothing stopping you from doing so. Either way, they're all gonna slay whatever choreo is put in front of them regardless because they are more than professional at doing so, and that in and of itself is an exceptional skill they have cultivated over their career.

yoongi is so cuuuute. I loved this. agree he's already a proven dancer. and I think he's already got a groove of his own. but it's nice to see the commitment and for him to have more weapons in his arsenal
