I came across this in 2018 while in my first year of BTS Journey!! I must say it shows you just how talented JK is!! 2022-08-10 06:04:26 +0000 UTCLoved the reaction you would not believe the amount of death threats and hate Jungkook got for this performance afterwards, people said he kept stealing the spotlight from his hyungs and that his hyungs would be better without him 😭 it got so bad to the point that he almost went 2 years without doing a Vlive, going on Weverse or even posting anything on Twitter, he completely moved away from social media for a couple of years and the members said there's was a period of time where JK wouldn't really communicate with any of them, luckily he didnt let the haters win and he eventually became better mentally again. I love this cover so much but I don't think this cover was worth the amount of hate JK got for it

2022-07-29 18:11:03 +0000 UTCStill one of my favorite solo stage covers- even though all present BTS members were involved, that wasn't the first decision. So, the end of the year shows usually try to mix things up and you'll sometimes see a member of a group give a performance of a 'legendary' idol's song by themselves if it's a solo artist. JK had the opertunity to do this solo stage, but in typical JK fashion... he didn't want to perform this song without his brothers. So, the rest of BTS prepped to tackle the choreo and agreed to be the dancers to JK's 'Rain'. Now, since someone mentioned the hate JK recieved- I will say this- The majority of the hate was from 2 different groups of people - 1- those in 2016 who still were bent on degrading anything BTS did, and 2- Those who liked or claimed to like BTS but made a fuss and assumed JK was treating the other members that were there like his backup dancers, like he was the star of BTS, like he was more important(seriously, I don't know why people would think that. This boy hypes up all of his hyungs)... most of the second group... were international fans. There were a few articles online written by either people who just wanted clicks or people who were also bent on insulting BTS any chance they got. The bottom line is that if the other members were not okay with being dancers while JK pretty much sang the whole song- cause again.. Rain is a solo artist, makes sense to have one person sing the song- well BTS would have said something about it, they would have said no to JK. But that wasn't the case, the others were more than happy to cheer and support their golden Maknae while he tore up Rain's song. The majority of both fans and even SK's general public who liked Rain, rejoiced and praised this performance. All of them did so well- and yes, there's cane choreography in the original too, you'll see it when you get to it. This is still a highly viewed and loved performance. Rain himself was impressed- but he had said he wasn't that surprised, after all.. his own mentor and ex writer/co-writer and producer- Bang Si-Hyuk was the one who put BTS together. I also want to note that Yoongi didn't get to perform because of an accident(the man tripped over a door... We never got an in depth explanation). He hurt his ear and his doctor ordered him to rest and wearing an in-ear would irritate where he got cut on his ear. Thanks for the content 💜💜💜
