This song absolutely blew up when it dropped and they were finally gaining some recognition until that whole situation with cube happened. I don’t really keep up with them anymore but i loved their older songs with Dawn such as ‘Runaway’ and ‘Critical Beauty’

You guys have to check out Dr. bebe tho !!!!!!!!This song has a special grip on me since it was released early 2020. It's the total opposite of shine. So yall gonna be shOOk shook lol. Make sure to watch it with a bigger panel tho. Side note, Pentagon was also on road to kingdom!

One of the things with Shine is that the instrumental itself is incredibly simple, it’s the members voices and the way all the vocals are layered that makes the song sound so full. This song was written by Hui, Wooseok& Dawn. They’re a self composing group so if you look through the credits of their songs you’ll always see the members popping up, especially HUI, KINO and Wooseok. Hui might actually be one of my favourite idol producers in the game. He’s also written amazing songs for other groups like Procuce 101’s Never, Wanna One’s Energetic, WEi’s Twighlight, BVNDIT’s Dramatic etc. KINO besides writing a lot of songs for the group also choreographs for them, in an interview last year he actually explained how he has choreographed about 1/3 of all songs pentagon perform at concerts by himself and had taken part in most of the choreographies for their title tracks too. Anyweh. Pentagon are one of the most genuine fun, talented groups out there. ( I swear their main vocalists Hui and Jinho are right on par with EXO’s Baekhyun and Chen - no wonder they’re my two favourite groups lmao) Some song recs: - Daisy - The Black Hall (B-side) - The Game (B-side > probably one of the most insane kpop songs I’ve heard in my life) - Naughty Boy - Dr Bebe - Basquiat - Do or Not

I also know one of the members Yanan not only for his visuals but because I meet him trough other idols. Tough he's Japanese he was raised in China therefore participated in CYZJ a Chinese artist competition that Seventeen's China line Jun and The 8 took part in as well. Thank to SVT I meet Yanan, then I heard this song which I love and have been tip toeing my way into Pentagon. Would love to for y'all to check out more from them so I can follow the journey.

It's one of my favourites this year and there has been so many comebacks out so far this year too. My fave Hui, who is in the military but even without him they just are so good!

That long extended note towards the end that had you caught up was done by the oldest (and shortest) member Jinho. Here are the members just for reference in this video: Jinho - main vocalist (shortest, cape) Hui - leader, main vocalist, lead dancer (blue hair) Hongseok - lead vocalist (plaid trenchcoat or blue vest) Shinwon - vocalist, visual (blonde with brown roots) Yeo One - lead vocalist, visual (red hair, curly in one scene Yanan - vocalist, visual (very tall, silver/white hair) Yuto - lead rapper, lead dancer (black hoodie, has the last rap verse) Kino - main dancer, lead vocalist, center (blue goggles or blue button down shirt) Wooseok - main rapper, maknae (tallest, wearing shorts in both outfits, 2nd rap verse) Dawn used to be an all-rounder in the group, he was main dancer, lead rapper, and sub vocal. And this song definitely took off the summer of 2018, it was THE top kpop song. It was too bad Cube messed it up right away, kicking out Dawn after his relationship with Hyuna got exposed.

It's unfortunate that they've been through a lot that stunted their growth when they have so much to offer, from E'Dawn being removed from the group due to his relationship with Hyuna, to lots of comebacks without their full lineup either due to sickness or military service. I wish they could get more recognition. Their most recent title track is called Feelin' Like, you guys should def check it out!
