Big Hit is a completely different company than the others in the Kpop music industry. They have always allowed the members of BTS to pursue their own interests, have social media and talk directly to their fans. The other companies kept their artists under wraps and did not allow them social media accounts outside of what their respective company approved of. They wanted their artists to be 'blank slates' so to speak (just one of the reasons they look effeminate because they are to be beautiful and perfect as Idols) to allow their fans to project upon them whatever they desired. The Idols were not allowed to speak their minds or create music other than what the were given. Some groups broke from that like Big Bang. GDragon wrote a lot of their music. Bang PD did not want that for his Idols. He wanted fans to be able to RELATE to his artists and when they faced adversity and bias within the Korean media they went outside them and created their own platforms and TV shows and reached out through Twitter. They were always organic and showed exactly who they were, as people and as artists. They were never a blank slate and ARMY loves them because they are relatable and hella talented. Also, I want to add that it's really great that you guys provide context to the song. The way you explained what Daechwita is, and Yoongi's two conflicting sides....all that makes a big difference in reactions and introducing people to new things....so great job on that.

Bighit does back them but they give them the freedom to do whatever they want on their mixtapes. They also allow them to release it for free so that it’s available to all fans through sound cloud. Also Suga and RM were hated on for years because they went the pop route instead of sticking to underground rap. You might think just because their company is big now and has the ability to support them it wasn’t always the case. They almost broke up because of how much hate they received in Korea. Till this day they are still undermined by the Korea media and it’s really sad to see. They have to take it from the West and at home. This is why the fans are loyal because they only had their fans and a small company backing them. Also one last thing Suga does state he never calls anyone out but does lay traps in his album. This is the case with the pill popping bar he slated. If fans or artists are offended then it’s probably because they are the ones popping the pills and lacking the skills.
