I will do better

Hi Patrons,

I wanted to take a moment to talk about a few things. I recently just found out there was an exit survey section on the page which optionally allows for some comments to be added as to why Patrons have left.

In most cases people have left because of changing financial situations - i totally understand - please take care of yourself and family before anything but in others there was some comments made that im not responsive or communicate enough with everyone here and thats the reason for their departure.

And i need to be honest about that - its true, I have not been as active here and i should be and I want to change that today. I've been working through my inbox and responding to as many messages as possible and i will follow up with everyone. I will set time to answer peoples questions and requests each week

In some cases people still may be waiting for a T-Shirt and i will address that this weekend as well.

In summary - i'll do better to support the community here.

And please if you have any questions/advice/comments/suggestions here feel free to leave them here. I'll be sure to read them all

have a great weekend

You and "the 8 bit guy" are the closest to my taste in content than any other channels I support on patreon. My demographic is I'm a veteran developer, started code writing as a hobbyist at the early age of 10 (1985 on MSX). Obtained academic B.Sc. degree in computer science at the age of 22. And built many software solutions and APIs over years of professional industry experience, and still heavily develop professionally. Your videos always been and still are very informative and entertaining for me. Hope my feedback helps :)

Hey, I agree with most of the above. I'm happy with the videos, I'm not looking for interaction ... Keep up the great work.

I just logged in to write the following. I became your patreon because I really appreciate your work on your Youtube-channel. If those videos keep coming, I'm also a happy patron. I do not expect more interaction through Patreon, I'm happy with the things they are at the moment. I'm also happy to see that I'm not alone with the sentiments above. Keep up the great work!

I'd say on the contrary that receiving money from some random person on the internet is quite a sign of appreciation and respect, so I'd say one is obligated to show some respect oneself. I don't consider that an "extra" but simply the other side of the coin. I hadn't contacted you myself though.

I became a Patreon to support you and to see more of your videos.

I don't get that - I support you to support your videos, not for some parasocial relationship.

You've always been nice to me on Twitter and offered your help if I ever needed it -- that alone speaks to your character. Real Life(tm) is complicated and I'm personally ok with you doing whatever is best for your life, your family, and your hobbies. I'm cool :-)

hey love your content! as long as the videos keep on coming, i'm a happy patron :) but fair enough if people are leaving because of the extra perks, I treat patreon as a donation - others dont keep on trucking

James Blandford

Personally I'd rather you had more time to make videos but maybe that's just me!

RichFX

I don't expect anything extra because of my support. I would rather everyone had access to your great videos

I pledge because I enjoy the content of the creator and want them to be able to do more of what they like. I rarely care about what they share on patreon.

I agree with Markus. To be completely honest, I have a couple dozen people i support on Patreon. If anything I already get SO many updates I almost never read them.

Mike Thorpe

I signed up for your Patreon with the hopes that my small contribution, mixed with the other monthly support you get might help ensure that you keep making your videos and more importantly (no offence) you continue all the behind the scenes work you've always contributed. For me personally, I don't need any "perk" other than you continue doing what you do. I'm certainly not trying to "shame" anyone who's tried contacting you, I just wanted to make the point that many of your supporters feel the same way I do. I hope this came out as positively as I meant it!

Same as above, I joined to show support for the content you create. But appreciate your humbleness non the less! Keep up the amazing work. On a side note - I loved hearing you on the Retro Hour Podcast the other day - awesome stuff!

I am your patreon first and foremost to support you doing your videos. That said, personal responses are much appreciated, but it is nothing that I expect or demand. Keep your quality content as it is buddy!
